a ehofunnit that I didn't guess in the first 3 minutes
I enjoyed this story and, as I said above, not only didn't guess the perpetrator until the reveal, I also didn't guess the twist which was a nice change! I did feel the delivery wasn't as professional as normal and the book is a little slow in places but overall a good "read"!

What a rollercoaster
This started as a cozy mystery with soul and emotion and nothing pointed to the turmoil this story went onto. The characters got more complex and the mysteries got deeper by the chapter. Everytime you think you get a glimpse of the truth it evaporates. The carol used in a mystery or cozy thriller isn’t new but this was genius. With each clue the plot thickened and got foggier but it became a joy to read and follow as more and more was revealed. I had a lot of theories but none worked out and it twisted until the last minute. It left enough mystery to hopefully follow up with sequels getting Anna to solve another story or more.
I almost gave up early as the narrator irritated me more than usual but I liked her voice and the use for the different characters. With a bit of change in speed and growing into the story it got better and better and was perfect to carry the suspense. One of the best Christmas crime stories I’ve read so far and can only recommend to look out for further books by the author.

Intriguing
It took me a little while to get used to the narrator but once I did I was drawn into this story. I enjoyed the link to the ‘12 days of Christmas’ and I was unable to guess who did it. I’d like another in this series to be available on audible.

Brilliant story, terrible writing, OK narration
I would have given this 5 stars were it not for the terrible writing. It's like listening to a teenage girl's diary with all the "oh no" and "what should she do?"
Also, the author insists on telling us in minute detail about her flaky character's bodily functions. She sweats any time something unexpected happens and gets knots in various parts of her anatomy. Not to mention her dry mouth apart from when she's vomiting.
I think this is a sign of an inexperienced author whose editor isn't doing their job. I fast-forwarded through a lot of the blizzard scenes. And how stupid do you have to be to go out in a sub-zero white-out without telling anyone - twice?!
The narrator is OK, but a bit too breathy for me.
That said, the plot is excellent and would have been better served by a less idiotic main character.

Complex - in a good way
At times I felt like it would be obvious, and towards the end it felt like it might be overly complex to make all the plot threads work - but actually I think it was woven together really well. I also liked that there weren't a ton of gory confrontational scenes (just a bit). The faith element worked well too. I will say I needed to set the speed to 1.75x to make the narration a reasonable pace.
