About this listen
When the body of a young Helensburgh woman is washed up on the shore of the River Clyde, DI Claire Redding takes on what turns out to be the biggest case of her career to date. The mystery deepens when forensic evidence found on the body reveals surprising results. However, pressure builds when the body of a well known local man is washed up a few days later and the young detective has not only to overcome some very serious personal issues but must solve the case quickly.
Full of drama and mystery, this pause-resister will keep you on the edge of your seat until its dramatic ending.

Another great book in the series
I am really enjoying this series and the characters are developing. It is so nice to have a clean detective series, the location is really interesting and so well described. The narration really suits the story and kept me thoroughly engaged.

The Keeper
Another great listen from Andrew Hawthorne. This second book in the D.I Claire Redding series is excellent, with familiar characters from book 1 and some new ones the story is interesting and keeps you listening to the very end. It is a pleasure to listen to a detective novel with no bad language and no horrendously mutilated corpses as seems to be becoming a norm these days. Grant Love's narration is once again superb and really helps to bring the story to life. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by Grant and leave this honest and voluntary review. Already started book 3! ☺

Better than the first
Really enjoyed this book which I thought was better than the first one which I also enjoyed. As before I liked the use of locations around Dumbarton and particularly liked the incorporation of historical facts/events into the plot.

Enjoyable detective thriller
It's nice to hear a genuine Scottish voice narrating an audiobook. The story had lots of twists and turns and a good plot line. There were a few too many characters for me, and it got confusing in places as to who was saying what. Unlike a printed book, it's not easy to 'flick back a few pages' to refresh one's memory as to who is who when listening to an audiobook. But that aside, I enjoyed the story and it had a satisfying conclusion. The narration was good, but I did notice once that a correction was much louder than the surrounding text. It's always best to listen to what you have recorded before letting it go.

Very Enjoyable
Really enjoyable book.
The plot moves along at a fair pace with lots of wee twists and turns.
Some fun wee factoids about Dumbarton and well thought out.
the characters are beginning to really take shape, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they move forward in future books.

keeper
I loved the narration of Grant Love, who brings out the thrill and makes the police work come to your ears.
DI Claire Redding takes on the case of a body of a that is washed on the shore of the River Clyde. It is not long before it turns out to be the biggest case of her career to date.
Full of drama and mystery, with a dramatic ending
