About this listen
In May 1945, with victory in Europe established, the war was all but over. But on the other side of the world, the Allies were still engaged in a bitter struggle to control the Pacific. And it was then that the Japanese unleashed a terrible new form of warfare: the suicide pilots, or kamikaze.
A story of courage, The Kamikaze Hunters is a gripping account of how a few brave men helped to ensure peace.

Forgotten but unforgettable.
I like to think of myself as a history buff, but this is a story and a period I had no knowledge of. And what a remarkable series of events, everything covered from flying school right the way through to the carriers, the planes, tactics, and dispersal. An excellent book, story and narrator, and Jonathan Keeble was the best person for this exciting and heart warming narrative. Totally recommend the book and the narrator.

Riveting story, didn't want it to end
As the books opening suggests, the RNs Pacific fleet and the fleet air arm's actions are not well known at all. The book sheds light on this forgotten fleet and is a fascinating insight into the background, training and ultimate actions of these young men. I really enjoyed the performance of this book and would highly recommend.

absolutely fantastic
this is a must for all aviation fans. The air battles are raw and gritty and you can almost feel the monotony, heat and sheer terror of being a British carrier pilot in the Pacific.
