About this listen
A dead politician and a long list of suspects makes for an extremely difficult case for Detective Inspector Claire Redding on her return to work after a long period of recovery but, as usual, this tough little detective is determined to find the killer and won’t stop until she does. However, things are not going well at home and even Claire needs the help of a friend to dampen her inner turmoil but will she heed the advice offered or will Claire go with her instincts, for better or for worse?
Another gripping crime mystery which will keep you on edge until the final tick of this fast-paced story.
Fans of JD Kirk and Ian Rankin will love this crime thriller which is set in the West of Scotland.

Excellent.
This 5th book in the DI Claire Redding series is another cracking listen from Andrew Hawthorn. It is fast paced and has a great cast of characters. Claire has returned to work after a long period of absence following the attempt on her life at the end of book 4 and is soon thrown in to the case of a murdered politician. Her husband Peter has his own agenda and this second plot in the book makes for addictive, can't put it down listening! Highly Recommended but do read the previous books in the series as this does follow on. Grant Loves narration is top notch and both his production and multitude of voices bring the whole story to life.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

Another Great Addition to the Series
Really enjoyed this book again and look forward to the next one given the cliffhanger at the end. The performance also gets better with each book

I loved the narration from Grant Love, who brings out the trills in this thriller and the suspense.

Great series
This was another great read/listen in the series and continues the story from the previous book. In my opinion it would really add to the story if you had read the previous book rather than reading this as a standalone, as there are so many plotlines that continue on.
The narration as always works well.
These books are not full of unnecessary red herrings which can just add bump to the books but rather concentrate on the main characters and the reasons why they are doing what they are doing - and of course the crime featured. By doing this they are an easy and relatively short listen.

Good series and engaging narration
Very much enjoying the DI Redding series and the threads running through the books. Another good story in here and expertly narrated to make it engaging and pacey.
