Summary

Chilling initiations. Big banks and money manipulations. Possible links to the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Adamses, and Bushes. Reviewing the evidence, documents, and connections, The Illuminati: The Secret Society That Hijacked the World by award-winning journalist and author Jim Marrs shines a light on the history, workings, continuing influence, and pernicious and hidden power of this secret order.

Surveying experts - from those who dismiss the Illuminati as a short-lived group of little consequence to skeptics who dare question the government's accounts and pronouncements - Marrs cuts through the wild speculation and the attempts to silence critical thinkers to tell the true story of this secret cabal. He investigates their origin as "The Ancient and Illuminated Seers of Bavaria", the depiction on the United States one-dollar bill of an all-seeing eye and pyramid on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States, the Protocols - or procedures - for usurping national governments and gaining world domination, the symbolism found in today's international corporate logos, Knights Templar, assassins, Skull and Bones, whistle blowers, the revolutions in France, Russia, and America, and much, much more.

Interesting writing,

also good source of directions to what else worth to read.
Excellent narration.
I'd also suggest for readers, an in depth enquiry into Jiddu Chrisnamurti's works, Maxwell Igan, and Imagine Peace

Scary!

Have the Scouts have been infiltrated??!! Enjoyable to listen to....and I am a firm believer that there are forces beneath legitimate Governments that possess unbelievable control in certain areas. However, the idea that there is a world order that is capable of almost every world calamity is maybe a stretch too far. There are obvious connections to the early gnostic Christians who were 'enlightened', possibly through the use of psychedelic wine. With Greek origins, these 'mystics' promoted that knowledge was key to enlightenment and that God resided within each person.

Ruined by the narrator

The robot who narrated this book just ruined it for me. I got a few hours in and couldn't take it any more.

Great Page Turner..

I have read a lot of Jim Marrs books, I would rate this in my top 3, the other 2 being. Crossfire and rule of secrecy.

Rule of Secrecy being closer to The Illuminati, crossfire was about JFK. Gives a great background and has some similarities
to rule of secrecy. If you like that book you will also love this. I would a lot of the material very interesting, and like the way
Jim Marrs unravels a subject. Narrator does a solid job as well.. Value for money being nearly 20 hours of audio.

Repetitive

Very repetitive,, the author writes like a teenager with a word count to reach... Spent a lot of time thinking 'I've heard this bit, has it rewound' only to realise it was repeating a story it had already narrated with slightly different wording, I suppose if you were being imcredibly generous you could call it a recap, but tbh you don't need a recap of something from 5 minutes ago.
Very much written from a right wing American xtian POV, talks about 'satanic zionist conspiracy'
