About this listen

Captain Jason Burke is a man apart, and not just because he's the only of his kind for thousands of light-years in any direction. The changes to his body and to his genetic code have made him faster, stronger, more able to survive in his dangerous occupation...but they've also ensured that he'll never truly fit in with others of his species. He always assumed he would live and die with his crew and never lay eyes on another human again. He was wrong.

The mercenary captain learns through back-channel information that Earth may be in danger and, worse, that he may have been a contributing factor. He now faces the choice of ignoring the problem and allowing his own species to fight their own battles or returning to help and risk making the situation worse. Can he just sit idly by while his species faces such a dire threat?

Just the best

Emotional, intriguing, fast paced and hilarious. How JD gets the narrative to come alive from the pages, or in this case the audio is just incredible.

Jason does it again

what a perfect conclusion to the introduction of the human race and Jason's univers comes crashing down on earthlings that aren't ready and have made a deal with the wrong species.

Loving this series

This is a great series, wish I’d found it sooner. Shorter than some SiFi but worth it.

how could I not give it full stars after that end

great story as always, albeit a bit simple at times. And the narrator keeps irking me with awkward pauses, including there not being a pause where clearly the story jumps and a long pause is necessary. nothing too bad, just awkward

The simple story telling brilliance continues.

I've enjoyed the whole series immensely and it just gets better and better. Can't wait for the next installment and indeed for the next 10. You reading this Joshua?

Brilliant!!!

Excellent writing and superb narration bring this brilliant tale to life.
Each chapter in the series is just the right length to keep you interested without getting bored.
And now understand how this Omega Force meshes with Terran Scout Fleet.

Sad

it's very sad to see what happened to me with the omega force series where no audio book is numbered for continuity and order of stories, the same thing here is listening to the expansion wars all three books just to realize that for the first time I should listen to black flet to better understand the story and to be continuity. you've lost a client who could have bought the black flet if I had not listened to the expansion wars first to know more than 50% of what's happening in black flet, it's a pity that such a good author is not in the mood to make a continuity in the titles and not miss a client.
