About this listen

For decades, an old Providence church has stood empty, silently looming in the city's skyline. As a young writer looks into the history of the abandoned church - and the cult that once resided there - an ancient horror stirs. Will he be able finally to solve a mystery shrouded in darkness, or has he merely paved the way to become its next victim?

Excellent, chilling story and performance as well

Loved from the beginning to the end, all Lovecraft stories ought to be dramatized in this way.

Fun to listen

Always fun to listen to Dark Adventure Radio Theatre books. The book is pretty much a HP Lovecraft theme based on cultists trying to resurrect and bring forth the darkness. Not the best one though. I would recommend reading Call to Cthulhu, At the mountains of Madness and The shadow out of time by Dark Adventures Radio Theatre.

A Fun and Enjoyable Listen!

Lovecraft's stories are always great, even the lesser known and lesser preferred ones. but they can be a challenging read fir those not used to his antiquated style. This adaptation is a perfect 'translation' of sorts, to better help understand the plot, characters and dark happenings. Thoroughly enjoyable!
