Quite good
I enjoyed this book, and liked the tone and sound and listening to the narrator who was a very pleasant reader, he took his time and used lovely intonation during speech to “voice “ his characters
Although I wished the story was a little longer the ending felt like it had cut the story short a bit too early
Some of the language used is brilliant, and I really loved this book

Up to Cottam's usual spooky standard
I love reading the supernatural stories of F G Cottam as they are deeply rooted in character and plot which gives them a truly believable appeal. A man builds a house for his family unaware of the price they will have to pay for their idyllic surroundings.

A dark tale, beautifully narrated
The first part of the story paints a charming picture of family life, but soon becomes depressingly dark under the influence of forces in which it is hard to believe. The brilliant narration does not prevent the whole from leaving rather a bad aftertaste.

Excellent
Wow, this is back to the brilliant creepy and interesting style of Mr Cottam's 'Waiting Room', I really enjoyed this book, it left me still pondering and thinking about the eerie tale. I loved it.

Dark side of the Isle of Wight
It’s not set at Christmas but this short tale has something of the festive ghost story about it. A metropolitan architect experiences the uncanny while closeted on the Isle of Wight- lovely hints of Christie’s Endless Night and Dickens’ Signal Man with a dash of Hammer.
Lots of story for its length plus brilliant narration.
