Great book for self love

At first the voice of the reader and writer was a little bit annoying but as the book goes on she has more fun reading it and it makes it a pleasure to listen to it. Thank you Mel it is a great read / listen and I already bought one to offer to someone that might need it. I do recommend this book for all the women and men struggling with weight issues.

I cried through most of it

My mum had my sister and me on diets since I was 12 years old. With no cookies, cake. chocolate or bread in the house it was no wonder I started to binge on these as soon as I left home. As a single mum looking for love she was desperate to present her package with 2 perfect daughters so we went off to elocution lessons was dragged sailing and horse riding and kept on the latest fad diets. After reading this book I now feel empowered to forgive her and get on with my life. After listening to this book I feel liberated and more confident to take responsibility for my own body. After 40 years of slimming clubs and diets I am finally in control ... not them. I am taking a vow now to put myself at the centre and respond to how my body feels. Only I can do that. The book has given me a new energy, a new purpose and new mantras. I recommend it to any ladies trying to break free.

Worth a try

I had heard many good things about this book, and read a lot of "life changing" stories on instagram, and after reading Body Positive Power, by Megan Crabbe, I thought this would be a great read.

I have seen Mel Wells on instagram, and she seems wonderful, a picture of beauty, and positivity. And I can see how she tries to embody this in the book, but I just didn't feel it. I found the some of reading challenging to stay tuned into and at times it seemed almost patronising. There is a good message in this book, and I would recommend that all girls give it a try. This one wasn't for me, but I know a lot of people that sing it's praises.

Absolutely amazing!

I had heard of this book and really wanted to read it and when I did I realised why everyone has been raving about it. It's truly life changing and made my look at myself and how I view my body so differently. I have recommended it to all my fiends and I already want to read it again and put it into practice. So girls if you want to change your life give this a read!

Great to listen to for inspiration!

Mel has a fabulous manner and message to pass to us all. That in order live a peacful life with our bodies we have to learn to love it first, before any change takes place. I loved hearing her own story, particularly her honesty with how raw it was. Hearing the truth was so refreshing! A fantastic book, I highly recommend it!

this book made me question so much!

I've listened to this a couple of times now and I'm also a member of Mel's Academy which has been so beneficial to me.
As someone who's struggled with their weight and body image for pretty much all of their life, I've always been on diets. I'm so glad I found this book as it's opened my eyes to the fact that DIETS DONT WORK. This book is a self help book, yes, but it's not one of those full on ones that are really intense and talk about magic and manifestation and stuff. it's just straight forward logical sense, written in a way that really makes you think. It covers the general principle of intuitive eating and why food isn't the problem but the symptom.
I won't say the book in itself has changed my life, which is why I haven't given it 5 stars, (as I've read other reviews that say it's life changing...but IMO that's going a little far) but since reading it, then finding Mel and joining her academy, I've delved further into what's covered in this book and I'm making changes in my life. I've not yet completely sorted my issues with eating but this book was a good starting point for me. It's manageable, not too full on and not preachy. I'd recommend it to any woman who struggles with food, their body and dieting.

Unnervingly accurate to my life...

Mel has a wonderful voice that fully expresses the passion in telling her story. Never before have felt as though an author is speaking directly to me; some of the behaviours she described were alarmingly accurate. A fantastic wake up call to the fact that we all need to be a bit kinder to ourselves. I will listen to this again on my bad days.
