Summary
Between 1998 and 2008, a million people stopped going to church on a Sunday. More recently, the much publicized abuse scandals within the Roman Catholic Church have forced even the most devout follows to ask some serious questions of their own faith.
In the 21st century, increasing numbers of people are becoming less and less willing to blindly accept the word of traditional religion as an unquestionable truth. Despite the dramatic increase in shared agnosticism the appetite for answers to the long-standing questions of mankind remains as strong as ever. Questions such as:
- If God exists, how can he stand back and allow people to suffer so?
- Why doesn’t God intervene in natural disasters?
- If God loves us, why is he so ready to punish us for our mistakes
- Why doesn’t God answer our prayers?
- What happens when we die?
- How do I get the life I dream about?
After two decades of searching for the answers to these and many more of man’s deepest questions, Craig Beck discovered something amazing and life changing. It took a complete loss of faith and disillusionment with religion to force a dramatic change in his path that revealed not only the answers to those burning questions but also the secrets to life as we dream it to be - full of abundance, happiness and love.

I'm not and have never been religious but this was a great listen so please don't be put you off if you're not in to the title.
A very interesting read indeed and it has certainly opened up my mind to some very deep ideas and theories about our creation and being. Love it!

good but could be better
well this book shares a lot of views on life that I believe.
enjoyable, well read but a few chapters have been added that were also read in Craig Becks other book called the switch,so I feel that maybe a bit lazy using chapters from another audio book.only complaint but good listen.

And the answer is.......
....yes, just maybe not as many people think. Craig passionately argues the case for pantheism and answers many questions whilst raising many others. What I enjoyed the most about this was Craig's excellent reading voice (he's worked extensively in radio after all) and skillful use of hypnotic language (he's also a hypnotherapist). It was great to listen to someone who after wrestling with these questions reached largely the same conclusions I did when I went through a similar period of questioning. Four stars because, it's a bit on the short side and occasionally Craig can get a bit carried away. Nevertheless a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

very interesting
Would you consider the audio edition of The God Enigma to be better than the print version?
This audiobook is certainly worth listening to, it is well read and gives plenty of issues to ponder over.
What about Craig Beck’s performance did you like?
Craig Beck is able to put his story over clearly, he makes it 'easy listening'

Religious or Not
This audio book present the author's views on religion and his struggles to come to grips with it. The material in the book/audiobook is of a very high quality and takes the listener through different aspects and beliefs of different religions. The audio is very clear and makes you want to listen to it again and again. Great insight into religious beliefs - different gods.

The God Enigma
This was a well presented and accessible book attempting to answer some of life's challenging questions. I enjoyed listening to it but felt that it was, in places, copying material from other similar books that I have, coincidentally, recently read. Books such as Conversations with God and many of Wayne Dyer's work which is echoed throughout this audio book.
Having said that, this was still thought provoking and worth a listen.
