About this listen
His pale skin is covered with the dirt I threw over his still-warm body. His hands, marked by a struggle that ended in blood, rest over his chest. His once vibrant, loving eyes are now forever closed. I am the one who consigned my husband to the damp earth of the Glades.
Seven months ago, I lost everything. I used to have it all. A successful career in television. A wondrous, glamorous life as a small screen celebrity. A handsome and loving husband who made my life complete. Until one day, everything I loved was ripped away from me. The day the Hunter took me.
Somehow, I survived. As I refuse to answer the federal agent’s questions about my ordeal, foreboding thoughts keep swirling in my head. I can’t let them find out who killed my husband. I can’t tell them what I endured. And there’s one thing I absolutely must do.
I must go back. Before it’s too late.
Caught in the enigmatic web of an unusual case, Special Agent Tess Winnett races against the ticking clock. A suspected serial killer is on the loose hunting prey in the depths of the Everglades. Several women have vanished from the Miami coast, leaving only echoes of their existence. The clues to their fates? Locked away in the tortured mind of one survivor, TV celebrity Kiana Bayliss. Does she hold the key to saving them? Or is she the final piece in a terrifying puzzle?
The Girl Hunter is a psychological crime thriller that draws listeners into the murky waters of a serial killer's mind. Delve into a riveting journey of survival, secrets, and redemption. Fans of David Baldacci, Robert Dugoni, and James Patterson will be captivated by Leslie Wolfe's masterful storytelling.

“Wow. I think I just fell head over heels in love with a fictional character. Tess Winnett is one of the smartest FBI agents and profilers I have come across yet and with analytical skills to rival Sherlock Holmes. Hats off to Leslie Wolfe for easily the best thriller I have read in this genre for many, many years!” (Manie Kilianon)

You can stop hunting for a good book
You can stop hunting for a good book because with this one you have definitely found one. There are not that many books that have you deciding even before you have finished the first page that you will be adding it to your audio book collection but this is one. Even having only read it a few days ago I can still say Oh wow!! Just when you thought it was safe to leave your house again, Leslie Wolfe comes out with a thriller like this. The story is told from two perspectives, one from a kidnapped woman as she struggles to survive and Tess an FBI agent trying to apprehend the kidnapper. This works for the story and takes you on a roller coaster ride, along with the characters. I have read very book in this series and can honestly say I have loved them all, I thought Tess was although slightly damaged a strong and capable women and I would want her on my side but Kiana is a whole new level, even where Tess was afraid to tread Kiana was in her element. The unusual banter between the characters (Donovan in particular) is missing, which just goes to show the seriousness of the case and while I did miss it, it meant the focus was all on the case and the determination of one woman to stay a live. A captivating story until the very end and a must listen
When a woman is found deep in the Everglades, FBI special agent Tess Winnett is called in. The woman has been missing for seven months and her battered body tells a story that she is unwilling or unable to tell. It seems someone worse than a crocodile lives in the swamp land. As Tess and her team start investigating they quickly learn that she is not the first missing woman although no other bodies have been discovered and unless they stop him she won't be the last. Can Tess turn the tables and make the hunter become the hunted?
I like the narrator. She helps you experience the emotion and drama along with the characters, luckily she doesn't take you as far as the torture.
This is a good example of girl power from the skilfull author to weave an engaging story, the talented author who takes you on the journey and even the capable strong characters traipsing through the swamp.
