About this listen
Read by the author.
Greatness and mediocrity are separated by one thing--how you respond to rejection.
People who crumble beneath the weight of rejection never realize their full potential, but people who learn to use rejection as a catalyst experience fulfillment in their lives.
Nona Jones has experienced her fair share of rejection. Some of her earliest memories are of her mother's rejection, and those feelings persisted throughout her schooling, her career, and her infertility journey. Things that seemed to come easily to others seemed unavailable to Nona--but what could have taken her down the path of failure actually brought her to her greatest achievements.
The secret? Seeing rejection as the gift that it is.
The perfect follow-up to her previous book, Killing Comparison, The Gift of Rejection is a practical guide offering a new, unconventional framework for rejection; instead of being a pain to heal, it becomes a teacher to learn from. Nona shares insightful research, practical steps, and powerful stories from her own life as well as the lives of Bible characters and modern-day trailblazers to help you:
- Identify the root of rejection and how it's manifesting in your life
- Pinpoint when the pain of rejection is triggering you and counter it with truth
- Respond to rejection with resilience and resolve rather than fear and defeat
- Anchor your identity in who God is calling you to be
Rejection is a gift that can help you build resilience, character, and success. The Gift of Rejection will teach you how.

Powerful
I finished this audio version and Wow this is genuinely life changing for me anyway.
Nona shares some of her life stories and the powerful.way God used it and equally she allowed Hiim to use it for good. I found myself in tears at times but by the end I feel empowered. Think we have all had rejection of one sort or another but to a various level this is an incredibly helpful and life affirming book.
So am easy 5star and fit me highky recommend.

The Title
Thank you Nina for sharing your experiences which have truly been a blessing and liberating. I came across the book at the right time when I needed it the most after experiencing a series of rejections which left me broken and questioning God why me. Since reading the book the framework has helped me to realise and accept that every rejection was indeed a blessing when I look back.
A must read for anyone as we all experience rejection at some point in our life.

Fantastic support for handling rejection
I had been desperately awaiting the release of this book and so read it the minute it was live. So glad Nona narrated it herself too. Really insightful, inspiring and relatable. For someone as successful as Nona to bear all and be so vulnerable was really brave but made the book even more special. Thank you Nona for the tools and guidance you have shared, because I feel I can handle more of life now thanks to you Xx

It was much more religious than I thought it would be.
I thought Nona's story was one where she has opened up to the reader through the eyes of her own (at times, horrific life experiences). She has turned to religion as a way to cope through the events of her life, and as I'm not a religious person, I was rather hoping for something a little less in that area where she's literally spent a lot of time quoting the verse, paragraphs, books, etc... which I find quite tedious to listen to that instead of just simply talking.
I did notice a theme of how Nona seems to get walked over by some people in her life, and I wonder what would be the other person's version of events if they were to tell the same story... as I've heard before, there 3 sides to every story, their mine, theirs yours, and there's the truth... I'm not saying what is written is not the truth but it can sometimes seem like we are victimised... and as a person that is reading this book, I have clearly been rejected, and so perhaps that's something me and Nona have in common... we feel victimised because others aren't living up to our expectations, for example.
overall I thought the book was good.
