About this listen

This college jock is a total player. He's used to getting who and what he wants. Until her....

Katrina

The hottest guy on campus won't stop asking me out. I know that sounds like a good problem to have, but this guy...this guy has no idea how complicated my life is trying to juggle being a single mom and college student.

Every Thursday, he shows up at the café where I work. His cheesy pickup lines and arrogance should have me completely annoyed. I'm not. I can't say yes, but Thursday is my favorite day of the week.

Joel

The hottest girl on campus won't go out with me. I know, I know, that sounds presumptuous, but this girl...this girl has gotten under my skin, and I can't seem to walk away.

Every Thursday, I show up at the café where she works. She's fed me every excuse in the book. I should give up and bang one of the many girls blowing up my phone. I'm not. Even when she says no, Thursday is my favorite day of the week.

Joel and Katrina!

Joel is the star college basketball player who can have any girl except for the one he wants. He is intrigued by Katrina and he shows up at the café she works at every Thursday to ask her on a date even though she turns him down every time.
Katrina is balancing both college and being a single parent which keeps her very busy. She is attracted to Joel but doesn’t believe he would anything more than a fling and her life is already complicated enough as it is.

When she needs his assistance he agrees in exchange for a date. She soon realizes that appearances can be deceiving and there is much more to Joel than she thought.

Joel is so sweet and sexy both to Katrina and her son and I really enjoyed seeing how the characters and their relationship evolved over the course of the story. I thought the narrators were a perfect choice for the characters.

a college single mom romance

In this book while I did enjoy the the characters and the overall story I had to mark it down one star because I felt like there was a few points in the story where maybe it was a bit drawn out and slow for me. As for the characters in the plot I found the story enjoyable kind of that sweet predictable college tough story romance. As for the narrators I feel like they did a great job and I do prefer the dual narrators but over all they both did a great job with each character and how they work together.

This is a great series!

This is book 2 in the series but still a stand alone if you wish. The 1st book was just as good though. I love sports themes but this author also gives you a great storyline too. The narrators are fantastic. Teddy is one of my all time favorites. Makes this book a knockout for sure. Loved it!

Katrina & Joel

Swoon. This story captured me from the first sentence. I listened to it in one sitting. I was highly entertained and strongly rooting for Joel. The writing, narration, characters, the moon cycles, one or all of these combined to just grab my attention. Great story, great narration.

Joel & Kitty!

Who doesn't want the hottest athlete on the basketball team to ask you out? Well, it seems Katrina doesn't! As a single mom in college, it's hard to find a time to have a social life with work, school and a child, not counting a dad who doesn't help out! But eventually, the man with the reputation, Joel, wears "Kitty" down and they begin to date. Joel is shocked by his feelings for Kitty, but are they strong enough to start a relationship? This book is so easy to get caught up in. Rebecca Jenshak has a style of writing that is easy to fall into, making us feel like we are experiencing all the emotional tugs as the story unfolds. What do I love the most about this one? I love that you can't always believe what you hear, you never know where love will find you and it's important to follow your heart. She brings it all to life with this one.

Jenshak's choice of narrators for this is perfect. I love Teddy Hamilton's voice, always an easy going sound. He has a way of having that comforting feel in his narrations. Summer Morton is a wonderful pick for Kitty. She has an inflection of maturity in her voice , yet pulls off the college age sound. It's like an older soul included which Kitty has with her experience. Loved this team!

Joel and Kitty

The Fadeaway by Rebecca Jenshak is an awesome book. I love that this book is a standalone listen, yet has some characters/places from The Assist included in this story. The author is fantastic giving the characters depth on this sweet and steamy college romance. The injection of Christian in the story was well done. Many college girls are single mothers, and he added another angle to this smart jock story. Teddy Hamilton and Summer Morton were fantastic bringing the characters to life. They added realistic emotions. The background relationships of Joel and Katrina in this book were so well done and added another layer to the character depth. Thank you Audiobook Obsession for this great book! I loved it!

A Sweet College Romance

I loved this story of Katrina and Joel told in a dual POV. It is part of a series but also a standalone. I have not listened to book 1, and it wasn't a problem except for the fact that now I need to hear Wes and Blair's story, too. Katrina and Joel were both sweet and sexy, and their love was a slow burn. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet college romance.

Summer Morton is a new narrator for me, and I thought she did an excellent job bringing this story to life. Teddy Hamilton is quickly becoming a favorite male narrator of mine. He's got a great male and female voice, and his Spanish is very sexy.

Loved It!

Audiobook review. It takes a truly great story for me to buy the reformed play-boy bit. Especially when the heroine is a single mother. This novel was crafted in such a way that I not only believed it but I fell in love with the characters!

Joel is a sexy, smart jock with a lot to offer a lady, only he wasn’t interested in doing so until Katrina. Katrina’s life is complicated and she’s got very little time for distractions but Joel is not having it.

The plot takes us through their courting and growth as they get to know more about one another and themselves. It was sweet, funny, and emotional.

The narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Summer Morton did a fantastic job with these characters. Everything was on point from the tone and pitch to the emotions and little nuances in their voices.
