Summary
Time is running out for Ahren as he and Khara leave their companions under cover of darkness and make their way to the Eternal Empire. The Pall Cloud is spreading relentlessly, yet the full complement of 13 Paladins have still not gathered together. But the couple are finding it impossible to find a way through to the notoriously draconian and reclusive empress, and all their attempts to enlist her support in the war against the Adversary seem doomed to failure once Ahren falls into the clutches of Quin-Wa's Peace Sentinels. While his friends seek a way of evading the empress's charm net in their efforts to help, Ahren and Khara find themselves battling to stay alive.

Ahren is such a wet!!
I love these books but surely Cullen should be the Paladin. Ahren has whinged since book one, if he he carries on I'm going to support the Dark One 🤬! This series would make a wonderful movie or three, much better than the Hobbit.

amazing so far!
so I'm going to be reviewing the series so far as a whole, I'm loving it, the in depth characters, the landScape, cities, cultures , these books are really well written and the narrator does an amazing job of bringing each character alive.
what I also love is how in depth the story is, and how versatile each book so far is. it doesn't seem rushed at all you'll have a segment that will last a couple of hours, not just "this happens and oh look all of a sudden someone comes to save the day" you really get immersed in the story. the main part of this book that's promted this review and this point I'm making is many things but the main one is the journey of Kara. I won't say anymore as I risk spoiling the story. I just hope the rest of the books are as good as this one and the ones before!

Another great tale - SPOILERS
Another great story from this series.
I was confused when they killed off sfen in the last book but I’m glad to hear they’re bringing him back in the next book, in some form at least. He’s a good baddie.
