About this listen

One of Rosamunde Pilcher's classic stories, now in unabridged audio download.

Virginia Keile has a secret dream. To have a second chance at loving the tall, handsome Cornish farmer she met - and foolishly lost - the heady summer she was a debutante.

Life has taught Virginia a great deal in 27 years - about wedding a titled bachelor picked out by her mother, about a lonely marriage that ended in her husband's accidental death, and about nearly losing her children to her husband's mother and bossy Nanny. Now she has come back to picturesque Cornwall to rent a battered seaside cottage. For herself and for the children. And to discover if this time she can fill an empty house with love.

But oh my goodness nearly gave up due to the dreadful fake accents of the narrator. The main character was annoyingly pathetic. I would have enjoyed just reading this book. First time using audible and if this is the quality of the narration probably thr last.

Love Rosamunde Pilcher

Rosamunde Pilcher's writing was just beautiful. Wonderful story telling with perception, wisdom, beautiful descriptions of Cornwall. Real characters, human behaviour and love. A short story, but still beautiful. I also love the voice of Helen Johns, just a lovely voice and lovely Cornish accents. I also recommend Coming Home, also narrated by Helen Johns. Will definitely be reading more of Rosemunde's books, they are addictive, and heartwarming. 🌺📚
