Summary

Not all scars can be healed with a kiss. Sebastian Lancaster, earl of Roddam, harbors a family secret so dark he has forsaken marriage to hide the past. When fate introduces him to Lizbeth, he believes he has met his perfect match - a woman with whom he can share passion without commitment.

Lizbeth Trethow risks everything to follow her heart until Sebastian’s past returns to haunt them. Desperate to hide the blood on his hands, he sabotages their happiness. Everything depends on Lizbeth unraveling the truth and turning this villain into a hero.

This is the love story of Lizbeth and Sebastian as they battle metaphoric ghosts born of murder and enlightenment to be together.

The Earl and the Enchangress

Pride and Prejudice meets King Arthur.
Pride and Prejudice (2005) is my favorite movie (I'm still working on finishing the book) and this book gave me so many PP vibes. From the h being named Elizabeth to the socially awkward Sebastian (Mr. Darcy).
I loved this story so much. The intrigue, the steam, the mystery. All of it.
This was my first book by Paullett and trust me, it's not going to be my last. I have a new 1-click author.

The Earl, the Enchantress and their naked bookclub

Not every enchantress is a voluptuous temptress. Some are introverted, bookish, confirmed spinsters and their magic lies in the quickness of their minds. Such is the case with Lizbeth. And her form of enchantment is just what Sebastian needs. Of course that would be so easy and simple, except for the "demons" from the past that haunt their growing affections and threaten to destroy Lizbeth and Sebastian's feelings even before they can do much about it.

As for the naked book club... well, I shan't spoil that with a review!

Bridget Thomas has a gentle, lyrical quality to her voice that is perfect for this audiobook. She gives each character their own voice and even manages to make the aristocrats sound suitably entitled.

The audiobook is long. Perhaps a bit too long. But overall the story is sweet and romantic and the performance is good.
