About this listen
There are usually two types of luck, but only one seems to visit a certain Dungeon Core....
Being in charge of her own dungeon instead of just being an Assistant to a Dungeon Core was a unique experience for Tacca GloomLily, especially after her “bad luck” resulted in her soul being sucked into a Core. Thankfully, she persevered through the strange experience and created a dungeon that she knew Raiders would say was suitable for “beginners”, otherwise known as brand-new Raider Clan recruits. After opening up her dungeon to the world, her entrance was finally located by two local Hill Dwarf farmers, who barely managed to survive their exploratory delve only through Tacca’s intervening actions. With them safely away and able to tell everyone about her dungeon’s presence, she now has to prepare for the flood of Raiders that she hopes will soon appear.
Along with Shale IronSchist, her own Dungeon Assistant, Tacca has to develop a way to maximize the few Core Improvement Points she is planning on receiving from the Raider’s presence in her dungeon, as well as what she gains from their deaths. Not only that, but she needs to start thinking towards the future; along with restocking and maintaining her original dungeon, she has to expand into a new section that can adapt to Raiders that grow too powerful to benefit from what she currently has to offer.
But not all is as calm outside of her dungeon as it seems. Locally, the two Hill Dwarves that first found her dungeon set up their village to accommodate the influx of new people; however, Raiders from the Clan aren’t the only ones to arrive: Merchants come looking to send their own people to the dungeon, bringing their own problems and dangers with them. Globally, Dungeon Cores that shouldn’t be destroyed are ending up shattered, and no one can seem to figure out why.
And just her luck, Tacca seems to be in the middle of it all....
This story contains Dungeon Core elements such as dungeon construction and defense, LitRPG/GameLit mechanics such as character progression and stats, and contains no harems/sexual content or profanity.

Interesting series
Definitely a worthy sequel to the first one in the series. It's an interesting world setting and political situation.
The character development and plot progression are well done, and enjoyable to follow.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who liked the first one, and this series to anyone who likes Jonathan's writing and Miles's narration.
I'm certainly looking forward to #3.

It just gets better and better
Only finished book 1 two days ago, jumped instantly into this. Couldn’t stop listening whenever possible and just gutted that I have finished it now and have to wait for book 3 to hit audible. As I have said before, love Jonathan’s work and this story just makes me love it more. Enjoyed the story line and learning more about the politics and ongoings in the world outside the dungeon. Did get slightly concerned towards the end at one part thinking it may all be over too soon. Must give this series, and Jonathan’s other series, a listen. Keep up the good work and thank you

Loved it
-This is a free copy review of the audiobook-
This book is really great, I always love these type of novels.
In this Book the Taka gets to see more adventures, with some faction of them showing in the dungeon town and visiting her dungeon too.
She also get an destruction atempt by one of the adventure factions, due to some internal conflict most likely, she survives(obviously as there is a 3rd and a 4th audiobook coming too).
She also is starting in a new section of her dungeon, where she would put some of her new mob types to use, she also discover a hidden interaction with some of her mobs.
But before she can put the new section of her dungeon to use, she's attacked by some blue/purple people/monster, which are really powerfull.
Not gonna put much more because it could spoil the experience for some.

Loving how this story is progressing
I'm enjoying this series and can't wait to see where it goes. I like Tacca as a character, she has the full awareness of how a dungeon core should be, but the plot subverts that.Great stuff

Amazing book but a problem needs sorting
I love this book but there are a couple of places where multiple voices overlap that does need sorting out. Even with this i enjoyed it and am keeping it. To whomever sorts audio problems out, please look into this

Fun mix of story and dungeon creation
Good mix of stats and story not too much stats to get tedious but enough to keep track of how the system works, intresting story and character progression.

More than worth the read/listen!
Another excellent book by Jonathan Brooks. Very enjoyable dungeon story, different enough to not just be another copy of the dungeon genre. This should prove an excellent gateway to the books to come in the series. As always Miles has narrated the book brilliantly and is an exceptional choice to narrate another story. Overall 9.5/100 and the only reason for the half point loss is that I’d have loved it to be longer and had more!
