About this listen
The Duke of Wellington not only defeated Napoleon but became prime minister twice and also lived in an opulent home known as Number One London. This novel, crafted in a modern and accessible tone, incorporates actual characters and true events of the day. It is a stand-alone novel in the Banquet series.
Set in 1836: The duke's annual Waterloo banquet was the high society event of the year, bringing together military veterans alongside nobility in the grandeur of his splendid home. Step inside the glamorous home and learn about the life of Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington, as their upbringing and life paths are discussed over dinner.
The author balances documented historical records on the people and events of the day to ensure historical accuracy, blending it with a modern storytelling style that doesn't make you feel like you are listening to Shakespeare so step inside a world of dukes, banquets, and extravagance. Imagine Netflix's The Crown but set in the 19th century. Buy The Duke's Banquet today and leave knowing more about Napoleon and the man who brought his empire to an end.

Historical fiction theatrically performed
This tale is brought to life by an energetic narrator providing multiple voices and a theatrical style. I learnt so much about Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington. The blend of fact and fiction made me feel like I was watching the crown! Recommended.
