About this listen

Lily Fitzpatrick loves vintage clothes. But this passion for beautiful clothes is about to have unforeseen consequences when Lily stumbles upon the story of a 1950s New York beauty who shares Lily's surname. Joy Fitzpatrick was a legend.

But what was the famous dress which she once commissioned? What happened to it - and why did Joy suddenly disappear from New York high society?

Very Enjoyable

Enjoyed the story and narration. Loved the merging of the two stories and how they come together. Well worth a listen.

The Dress

I adored the story, couldn’t stop listening, laughed & cried with the characters, but the book unfortunately was ruined for me by the narrators dreadful Oirish accent!!! ..Just stop...... Either get a native Irish narrator or stick to your own accent please!!

Dress

I must have read a little about the book before choosing it and I'm pleased I did as I enjoy a double story - one in the present and one alongside in the fifties. It was sad in parts but delightful in others. Not a deep story but very enjoyable to listen to whilst preparing meals!
I'll probably choose more by the same author in the future.

Started well

I SO wanted to give this 5 stars because it started out as a good story. It would have been nice if more than one of the main characters hadn’t ended up having a miserable life

Disappointed

Had such high hopes but the story was weak & the Irish accent was TERRIBLE! It ruined the whole story, & might have been forgiven only for the accent!
