Summary

The next gloriously uplifting book from the number one best-selling author of The Mum Who Got Her Life Back.

Suzy Medley is having the worst day of her life when a shaggy terrier suddenly turns up at her door.

Just like Suzy, Scout has been abandoned, although only Suzy has been left with a financial mess and a business in tatters thanks to her ex.

Suzy takes Scout in, and her chaotic world changes in unexpected ways: strangers have never been more welcoming, and her teenage kids can’t wait to come home to visit.

Then a chance encounter on a windy Hebridean beach makes things more complicated, because Suzy isn’t the only one who needs a friend.

Scout has plenty of love to go round...but does Suzy?

A wonderfully funny and uplifting story about friendship and second chances (and whisky!), perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Jill Mansell and Marian Keyes.

Sweet story terrible editing

It’s a lovely easy read. However, the editing was terrible. There are several instances of repeated lines and occasionally the narrator states she will re do that again as there was a noise in the background...

Ok listen

The story line was ok. Bit wish washy in places. Unfortunately poor editing meant some of the errors and repeats were left in. Okay as a filler between murder mystery but wouldn’t rush to recommend.

Rather disappointing

I had pre ordered this one and was really looking forward to it coming out.
I really thought I was going to love this book... I mean a love story built around a dog and Fiona’s books are normally very funny.
So unfortunately I’m rather disappointed.... the dog isn’t featured that much ... love story .... meh and it wasn’t in the least amusing.
I did enjoy the descriptions of the Island.
I don’t know if any of the editing staff listened to the end result of this audiobook... as there where about 8 places where the narrator repeated the sentence. These should have been edited out.

OK read

A predictable storyline which could have moved faster. But pleasant enough setting and would appeal to dog lovers.

Terrible!

I am so sorry but I couldn't read it all just kept flicking though from pages after the beginning waiting for something to happen. I t was boring. I can't give a full review having not read it all, also I thought the narrations were really bad.
I've bought a few Fiona Gibson's books and they were really good, funny and laugh out loud
and so I was very surprised that this book was one of hers. Sorry
everyone. 😞😡

Boring story and awful recording

The story is bland and boring for a start but my main issue was the recording. Firstly, the accents the woman did were appalling but even worse, there were MULTIPLE points where the narrator re-reads lines! I thought I was going mad at first so kept checking back whenever I heard it. At one point she even speaks to whoever is recording it. Not good - don’t waste your time or money on this.
