recorded in tin can?
this wasn't the best Daisy McDare story - she was off on honeymoon.... so really no point in her being mentioned. the rest of the story was just fine though. sound quality wasn't great.....sounds very tinny.

Cozy mystery
Format: audiobook
I don’t know where the narrator recorded this but it sounds hollow, tinny and echoes which is off putting. The narrator’s voice is pleasant to listen to but the story didn’t really hold my attention.

Cute!
Daisy is beyond happy. It's her big day. While she's away on honeymoon, the flower shop owner winds up getting shot. The investigation goes on and many people are interrogated. It's the talk of the town.
I really adored this book. It was cute and quirky. It was a very nice and easy book to read. The only thing I really couldn't understand is the disconnect. I felt like there were two different stories going on. I didn't really figure out why Daisy and her wedding and honeymoon fit into the story until the very end. It was nice to meet her.
I enjoyed reading about the characters. But with the book being so short, I didn't really feel like I connected with any of them. They all seemed very wonderful and it's easy to see the small-town vibes in the story. I get the feeling that this book was a part of a series and that I kind of just dove in not knowing anything about the world or the characters.
I really enjoyed the narrator. I don't think I've listened to anything else by Marilyn Rakes before. I am definitely willing to listen to other books narrated by her. She has this very sweet voice that's calming. I listened to the book with my mom and my boyfriend in the car.
This was a very short and sweet read. All three of us who listened to it enjoyed it very much. I'll have to look into other books by this author and by this narrator. It was well written and well narrated.

Not really worth a whole one star
First of all let me state that I received a free copy of this audiobook either from the author or a promotion or giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.
This is not a genre I usually read but thinking that it's good to try something new I gave it a go, after all it didn't cost me anything except the one hour & 14 minutes it took to listen to it, time I'll never be able to get back, sadly.
Lots of reasons to not like this book, almost none to like it. The narrator isn't the worst but it does sound like she recorded it either in a small toilet cubicle or with her head in a dustbin.
The dialogue leaves a lot to be desired. There are hundreds of alternative verbs for "said" but it seems that the author knows only one, "asked". It gets monotonous hearing "he said", "she said", "they said" over and over again. Try some variety.
The writing appears very juvenile and the story thrown together in a rush, no time to flesh out the characters, describe the scene etc. Sadly if this is a typical example of the cozy mystery genre it has put me right off. I downloaded a number of books from this series as free promotions but I'll be deleting them, unread, from my library and go back to reading proper fiction.
