Good story
Interesting story. Believable characters. Only spoiled by the narrator, but not enough to stop listening.

First class narration & a gripping tale!
I loved every second of this story from start to finish. Not only were the characters engaging but the the plot was expertly constructed. The stand out feature truly was the narration. Hands down one of the best narrators I've listened to so far. She effortlessly flipped from male to female, gruff intimidating adults to young inexperienced children with ease and impressive vocals. Would highly recommend. I will most definitely read/listen to the rest of the books now.

Would read other stories by this author.
particularly enjoyed it being set in Glasgow. Will certainly add author to my favourites list. I usually like stories with a bit more grit but it was good none the less.

hmmmm.... not sure....
I quite like the story but it's a bit.... well I want to say unbelievable (but that's the whole point of a story I guess!) There's some really good bits and it's good that the 'hero' isn't so much a hero and it is more realistic in the sense she's not invincible (on her own) but there's aspects of the story that just wouldn't happen and other bits you know blatantly do (I won't elaborate so I don't spoil it for others!).... it just feels a little stilted.... the narration isn't the best either.... it felt like they were bored with bits of the story and the end was just... well... abrupt?! Theres a lot of references to the past, in a way that you feel you're missing some of the story; so much so I went and checked I'd not bought a book half way through a series (I couldn't find any but I guess I could have missed them). Relationships between the characters could have been built better with more detail and less vagueness! I guess the ending is a version of a cliffhanger but not in a way that makes you want to go looking for a sequel or then next installment. Overall, it's not the worst Audible book I've listened to, but it's not the best either...

Stunning performance makes the book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
YES WITHOUT DOUBT The performance for this book is superb, it brings the book to life, more so than reading it ."old chcool with my eyes"!!!
What did you like best about this story?
The characters were likeable and belivable
Have you listened to any of Sarah Barron’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This was the first, but will listen to more. She is as good as Sean Barrett and that high praise.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There was occasional funny bits, but it's more gripping than any other emotion
Any additional comments?
Give it a try it's great!
