About this listen

My name is Oliver Arsen, but my mates call me Ollie.

I live hard and love harder, and it's love that usually gets me in the most trouble. According to the greater population, I'm the ultimate jerk. My affection tends to be short-lived - a quality I've been assured multiple times by the fairer sex isn't becoming - and the leaving part of loving and leaving has always come natural.

At least, it used to.

Until her.

Luciana Wright.

She's an American bombshell and my sister's best friend - a woman so wrong for me, it's written in the waves. And she's the reason we're all here. The reason I have to go back to explain how it all went wrong.

To the day the jerk started falling.

Interesting but stop the giggles

okay so I love MM author duo, I love audiobooks, I love CR insta love and I love the premise but holy cow, can we stop the podcast giggles?
So I know you (the potential buyer) has no idea what I'm talking about but just go with me here.
The premise is the basic reporter/podcaster being asked to cover a surfing tour, which is the "fish outta water" troupe and falls for the star athlete, all while travel the world, write articles, books and do podcasts about old boyfriends. Yeah Wonder Woman here.
This is a duet though and a CR contemporary romance) and rather then continue the story where book one let off. MM decides that book 2 will be the same story but told from the hero's POV. I loved the concept even though its not a new idea but even though the idea and story was good, the narrator execution drove me crazy. I loved the extra effort but the written in giggles drove me crazy.

Annoying forced laughter.

The male narrator has a much more convincing Australian accent than the female narrator. However his forced laughter was cringe.
Story was good but I didn't like the podcast style of writing.

Pleasantly unexpected :)

When I read the books description I thought this would be just another girl falls for best friends jerk brother, which is it but I absolutely enjoyed this spin on this. It was written like a pod cast and the narrators really showed their acting skills to reflect the humour and love these characters shared, over all I really loved this book series and I’m happy they both got to tell their stories.

Annoying forced laughter

I've listened to many of Max's books, and love them. This was a weaker one, however, a nice conclusion to the previous story. The narration was good, however, I found the constant forced chuckling annoying.

So funny!

I haven’t enjoyed a book (both in the series) as much as these in a very long time, I cried, gasped, laughed and cringed all the way through.
