Summary

In the future, there are many parallel Earths - but only one of them has time travel. Known as Primetime, its criminals break into the pasts of other worlds, far beyond the reach of conventional police.

Blake Din is the top agent of the Cutting Room, the group tasked with stopping these trespassers. After a mission to undo the murder of a young boy, he uncovers extensive damage to another world's timeline - and a conspiracy that reaches all the way back to Primetime.

Too much too fast

Any additional comments?

At 8 hours this book is a relatively short read/listen. I was attracted to reading this book as I really enjoyed the Cycle of Arawn and the first 2 Cycle of Galland books. The Cutting Room had serious potential and the story arc was a really good idea. My main issue with this book is that I feel like it didn't give itself enough time to really explore the ideas it was trying to. I was genuinely concerned when I only had 30 minutes left of listening and was convinced the book would just end abruptly as there wasn't enough time to form an ending. That said it did manage to complete the story, it just felt very rushed.
I should mention that the recording and Victor Bevine where very good, the voice reminded me Todd McLaren who narrated Altered Carbon and its first sequel.
I feel like to should also mention that the books ending leaves it open for another but as the work was published in 2013 and there hasn't been a follow up I think this is probably one that Edward W. Robertson is going to leave in order to concentrate on his other book series.
All in all I feel like the book was worth a listen, but if I could go back in time, I would have probably spent my monthly credit on something else.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
