Summary

Cornwall, 1796.

Seamstress Elowyn Liddicot's family believe they've secured the perfect future for her in the arms of Nathan Cardew. But then one evening, Elowyn helps to rescue a dying man from the sea, and everything changes.

William Cotterell, wild and self-assured, refuses to leave her thoughts or her side - but surely she can't love someone so unlike herself?

With Elowyn's dressmaking business suddenly under threat, her family's pressure to marry Nathan increasing and her heart decidedly at odds with her head, Elowyn doesn't know whom to trust anymore. And when William uncovers a sinister conspiracy that affects her whole world, can Elowyn find the courage to support the people she loves in the face of all opposition?

Cornish books

This is a wonderful book, I enjoyed every bit of it. Very clearly read, very exciting, and very difficult to turn off. I have read a few of Nicola Pryce’s books now and enjoyed every one. Well done Nicola, and well read Penelope

Absolutely enjoyed this excellent audible and the narrator is superb.

This is indeed a book you cannot put down. It is very informative about Cornwall in the 18th century. The story grips you and you feel you are their in the plot with Ellie. The outstanding narrator adds so much to the story......all the voices are a credit to her and I cannot rate her too highly. She gives a 110 per cent. This book keeps up the pace throughout. I have also enjoyed the two previous books in this series and will definitely be looking out for more books by this author.
