Summary

The follow-up to the number one smash hit The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama.

Someone is committing random murders across Chicago—and making sure detectives Billy Harney (Aaron Paul) and Patti Harney (Krysten Ritter) are first on the crime scene. What connects the victims, and why is the killer leaving clues behind with each body? Billy and Patti are scrambling to stop the next killing when their father, Chief of Detectives Dan Harney (Beau Bridges), is kidnapped. But in their race to track him down, they uncover pieces of his past that simply can’t be true. Could their own flesh and blood be covering up a dark secret?

James Patterson does it again with the latest entry in the Billy Harney Thriller series. Packed with twists, turns, and shocking revelations, The Coldest Case: The Past Has a Long Memory grabs you in minutes and doesn’t let go. Aaron Paul, Krysten Ritter, and Beau Bridges return to their roles, joined by an all-star cast including Greta Lee, Kevin Pollak, Jordan Bridges as young Dan Harney, and Patton Oswalt as himself. The crackling performances are paired with a jaw-dropping, immersive sound design that puts you in the heart of the action.

Good listen

Good performances, engaging plot. Spoiled in places due to intrusive, unnecessary background music. Good set up for a Tv shoe

Pretty good story but omg is Patty annoying or what.

The story is fast paced and fun, very entertaining. But Patterson has really failed to create a believable character in Patty. She's so strident, aggressive and annoying, it's no wonder her fiance dumped her tbh. The ending is nicely set up for a sequel, I'd definitely listen to it if it's a freebie, not sure I'd pay to listen though.

The initial mystery is ok but bland ending

Too short and too basic for my tastes. Would have wanted a bit deeper than a kiosk standard story.

Amazing cast

Excellent story, had me hooked from the start. I listened to the book in one sitting. The cast was amazing, the story kept me on my toes.

Good enough to listen more than once and almost for any age

Engaging from beginning to end, not too dark, not creepy things and very well narrated with sound effects only when needed.

Hooked from the start

So brilliant, I can't wait for the next book. Had so many twists & turns, ok I am 64 so didn't get all the technical stuff, but you don't need to understand it all, just follow the story. Written so well, loved the narratives, these guys were in Breaking bad & are great as siblings. The twist at the end will be great in book 2. Thank you

Great 2nd Book

I would listen to the first book first not that you need to but it builds the characters. Although it does get a bit far fetched when it comes to the finding of Atlantis it is still a great book. Great acting from all the characters.

Good story.

It was a good story, unfortunately the sound quality was absolutely awful!
It sounded like dialogue was recorded at different times, and cobbled together.

Cast have done it again

I’m so glad the cast from the coldest case is back at it again I’d really love them to do all the James Patterson books based on his character Billy Harney, Aaron Paul fits the role well. As well as the other cast with their characters. With the way they’ve done the coldest case audiobooks I feel it’s more of a tv drama / film with performance and I can visualise it.

Definitely highly recommend A***** 5/5
