Another Fantastic Listen

I found the Maeve Kerrigan series because I am a huge fan of Caroline Lennon as a narrator, whilst searching for books voiced by Caroline, I stumbled across this series and I am so glad I did. The crime side of the books are excellent, the personal side of the characters within the books are so well written you feel like you know them, the audible version adds a layer which makes the whole story three dimensional, The Close is such a good listen, cannot recommend this book and the whole series more.

Suspenseful

A good read. Kept me interested. Different to the others with two voices. Reminded me of the same style as Ross Greenwood.

Looking forward to the next. The final with these characters perhaps?

Fabulous series

I have absolutely loved this series. The character development throughout the series has made it feel like I am getting to know new friends. Flaws and all. Each individual story keeps you guessing till the end. Can’t recommend this series of books highly enough although each one as a stand alone woukd be a great read

Intriguing

The plot slither is one way, then another and then back again and then round about again as do the characters. One minute. You think you know who done it ! the next minute you’re not sure.

Excellent

I love this series and yes, it was a departure from the norm but I needed that following a string of unsatisfying listens this year. This was a palate cleanser. In fact, my main issue with it, my only issue with it, was the fact that the whole premise was enabled through an abuse of power, privilege and position, and there’s too much of that in the real world, but I can forgive it in fiction. No spoilers, but I really can’t see the police utilising two highly paid officers in such a role based on little to no evidence. Next please.

Just didn't like it

Just found it boring and "will they won't they" dragged out. Undercover storyline silly and unbelievable.

I just expected more, which is a compliment to all previous books in the series.

Great as ever

Don’t agree at all with other reviewers who feel the series has lost its way. Great new addition to Maeve’s story and looking forward to the next.

worst Jane Casey book so far

I have spent three quarters of this book waiting for Josh to kiss Maeve. Where is the detection and the crime and the very good characterisation you normally get with Jane Casey? this was a silly story from the start and is a real disappointment. Waste of money
