Summary
This novel from Emily Stone is a heartwrenching and heartstoppingly romantic journey from the gorgeous English countryside, to London and to beautiful Venice.
Travel from the gorgeous English countryside to romantic Venice with the bestselling author of One Last Gift and Always, in December Emily Stone.
Every December Holly writes to a stranger who is spending Christmas alone, and every year she receives a letter from another lonely person.
Being a part of the Dear Stranger club is a tradition she has come to treasure. Because ever since the accident three years ago, Holly has spent Christmas alone.
Usually, the letters go unanswered. That's the point of the club - no one knows who you are so you can write what's in your heart. But this year, when Holly gets a letter from an older woman, Emma, that changes. Not only is the letter full of a grief Holly can relate to, but also Emma mentions a place that Holly knows all too well. Holly knows she has to find the woman who wrote the letter. Because maybe, by helping someone else with their loneliness, she can fix her own.
Holly sets out to find the estranged grandson Emma is desperate to reconnect with. But when she tracks down handsome and successful Jack, he has his own reasons to not want to be found...

Utterly brilliant - a MUST read…
I am at a loss for words to describe how truly brilliant this story is. I love Christmas books but know they sometimes lack a magnetic storyline - their contents is purely based on candy canes and tinsel. Although The Christmas Letter is based around Christmas tinsel and candy canes are far from the magnetic storyline. I was so gripped by Holy, Jack and Emma’s story Christmas nearly passed me by! Emily Stone has written the best Christmas book of 2023, of that I am sure. I don’t want to write any spoilers - suffice to say you won’t regret reading or listening to this amazing roller coaster of a truly outstanding book. Thank you, Emma, Merry Christmas. PS it is beautifully narrated too.

christmas strange letters
It was not your usual happy fluffy Christmas story. Rather an angst feel story with a number of twists and turns.

Sad and Uplifting
I really enjoyed this work of fiction that contained so many lessons that are relevant to daily life. I will say no more, about the as I don’t want to give the plot away. However, seventy year old British Army veteran, from the streets of Glasgow, and although a life long avid reader, I never imagined I would come to enjoy this genre. How wrong was I, highly recommend this novel and audible sharing. Enjoy my friend.

Enjoyable Christmas tale
Enjoyable Christmas story. Narration was excellent with no attempt to use different voices to distinguish the characters. Interesting idea and plot to maintain interest throughout.
