Narrator Daniel Thomas May gives an animated performance of this collection of Christmas stories beloved by children. Giving each tale its own style of narration, May's lively voice rises and falls with drama and easily holds the listener's attention.
Listeners will find themselves moved by the sentimentality brimming in quite a few of the stories, from the fir tree's sad fate in The Fir-Tree to the little star's search for someone with whom to share his light in The Christmas Star. Other stories are filled with humor, and a few have lessons on Christian morality, but all are infused with the Christmas spirit.

Not all of these stories have aged well
Nit all of these stories have aged well and the last one contains some blatantly racist tropes BUT if you're reading them as an adult who can comprehend the context of the time periods within which they were written, it is a fabulously varied collection of antiquated classics. My only serious complaint with the narration is the one where the narrator fluctuates between a terrible attempt at an Irish accent and a worse attempt at a Scottish one, seemingly unable to choose which of these accents the character has.

lovely traditional collection of stories
Beautiful traditional stories of hope, goodwill and yule tide generosity. I enjoyed as an adult but perhaps my 6 year old would have struggled with some of the older literature.
