About this listen

In T L Swan’s steamy third installment of the Miles High Club, Kate’s hot new pen pal is a welcome distraction from her horrible boss. But nobody is as distracting as Elliot Miles...and he knows it.

My favorite hobby is infuriating Elliot Miles. Just the sight of my boss’s handsome face triggers my sarcasm. God knows how he earns his Casanova reputation—if a million women want him with his personality, what the heck am I doing wrong?

Disgusted with my love life, I join a dating app under a fake name. I start chatting to a man named Edgar. He’s not my type and lives on the other side of the world, but we hit off a friendship, laugh and confide in each other.

But lately things are getting weird at work. Elliot’s being...attentive. His eyes linger a little longer than they should, and there’s a heat behind them that I haven’t felt before. And then, in the shock of all shocks, he tells me that my vulnerability is appealing. But when was I vulnerable?

Horror dawns...Has my boss been reading my emails to Edgar?

Damn it, why did I use my work email?

Oh no, does he know what I really think of him? I’d rather die than ever admit it.

Or, even worse: is it possible that the man I loathe in real life is the man I’m falling for online?

Great twist

Loved it!!
I keep listening to TL Swan’s books and thinking that I hope they don’t get repetitive, and they don’t! Such a great twist at the end of this one.

don't be put off by negative reviews on the accent

I noticed a few people complaining about the English accent, it's true all Americans think we all talk like we're straight out of Downtown Abby and it seems its the only English accent they try to imitate. its not easy for a Brit to pull off a posh English accent so I commend cj Bloom for giving it her best shot. don't be put off by those saying they couldn't listen to it, they are being over dramatic, of course it would have been better with an English narrator but I've listened to it perfectly fine. it's a great book which I've really enjoyed and think it's well worth the credit I spent on it. honestly your missing out if you don't go for it.

Love the story

Loved this book ..funny..had me laughing out loud many times ..but..as everyone else has said Cj bloom was awful at a British accent ..it almost put me off listening ..please use a British person for a British accent ..I’ve heard her on other books and always thought she’s great 🥴 but that’s as they were American

It made me laugh out loud!

And I was not alone 🤣
I really enjoyed this book.
It has it all, a good story, unexpected twists and moments that made me laugh so hard.
And the narrators was perfect for this book, they really made everything come alive.
I recommend this book, if you like this type of genre, I really think you will like this one

Great story, terrible accents!

I listened to this audiobook as a follow on from The Takeover (which was absolutely brilliant) and although I enjoyed the storyline and the twist at the end, I have to say CJ Blooms accent spoiled it a little for me. I usually love her narration but on this occasion her British accent was terrible. She sounded like a repressed 1950’s housewife which was at odds with the character she was playing. It hasn’t put me off though, I’m off to download the next in the series!

Oh for a decent Brit accent

Would divide this story into a long boring first half, then a quarter where it began to be interesting, then the last quarter which was a rushed climax. Loved the male narrator"s voice but the female's attempt at British accent was simply awful, irritating and off-putting. TL has great original storylines but why are so many of her female characters so weak, whiny and lacking a backbone. Kate finally grew one in last chapter, and it finally salvaged the story, right at the very end.

A good listen in the Miles brothers series.

Whilst the English accent was quite good, the pronunciation of some words was inaccurate and annoying (e.g. preeetence instead of pritence) as were some of the words used (e.g. elevator instead of lift). Also, there was some similarity in text used to that in The Stopover.. not much, but noticeable. Having said that, in my opinion, it was a good story, well read and definitely worth the listen. I'm pleased that I added it to my library and will probably listen to it again.
