The real Line of Duty.
'The first rule of covert surveillance is never disturb the environment. To be an undercover officer, you must watch and wait. Before that, though, is the question of identity. Embarking on a covert operation you first must decide who you are. Who will you be today?'
Liam Thomas was an officer in the Met for over a decade, many of those years spent deep at the heart of Britain's most dangerous criminal enterprises in the murky world of undercover surveillance. Before him, his father had also been a police officer, a pillar of their small community.
Fighting corruption was Liam's life. But the murky world of undercover work teaches him that justice is far from black and white - and a family secret reveals that corruption is closer to home than he had ever expected. The revelations push him to the edge of his sanity - and then he discovers that his bosses are investigating him...
A thrilling memoir of a life lived amongst a world of corruption, justice and questionable loyalties, this book tells the real story of the police's line of duty.

Unbelievably gripping and well written.
I loved the drama and the brutal honesty about Liams thoughts, his life experiences and his personal family history. It left me wanting to learn more throughout. Amazing.

an excellent listen. a varied mix of emotions
really didn't expect as I drove around my home town making deliveries ,that the story would take me to that very same town.
A true and raw account of what modern day policing entails with its range of politicing officers.
As someone who grew up in the same town and also works in a similar profession I found it rather profound.
thanks for all you did.
R.I.P to bud/Paul.
hope you win you're battle Liam.
Good luck for the future

Gripping from end to end, and told with true character.
A genuine and engaging account of Liams time with the MET. Read by Liam with such character and emotion. Listened over a period of 3 or 4 weeks, but I was picked right back up and thrust into the story as though it was yesterday. A sensational read, and i cannot wait for the next…?

Alarmingly Interesting
This book really is alarming in its insight into the police force. Quite apt at the moment with all the revelations of the Met.
I look forward to reading more of Liam’s books and watching his films.
If you’re interested in the truth then this is the book for you.
