Summary
In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but any other evidence is virtually nonexistent.
Now Bosch and his new partner, rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case. Starting with the bullet that's been lodged for years in the victim's spine, they must pull new leads from years-old information, which soon reveals that this shooting may have been anything but random.
Read by Titus Welliver, star of the Bosch TV series.

Another Great Bosch Novel - I really hope that it's not the last!
I thought that I was going to dislike this audiobook. Not because of the story, but because it wouldn't have been narrated by the 'real' Bosch… I'd grown to love his distinctive gravelly voice. However, apparently it's narrated by the TV Bosch, and it's not too bad.
The story, of course, is brilliant! But I do hope that it's not the last…
Enjoy!

Brilliant story as always
Excellent writing as always, Titus Welliver's narration is brilliant, he's one of the best narrators; amazing voice. Having seen him playing Bosch in the TV series, he is the perfect choice for narrator, he really inhabits the character.

Harry's getting old!
What made the experience of listening to The Burning Room the most enjoyable?
As the years have gone by, Harry's mellowed a tiny amount. The story lines are just as good, but not so forceful or violent, in keeping with the age thing. Whilst I enjoyed Titus Welliver, who will make a fine on screen Harry, he doesn't 'do' other character voice changes, which makes some of the dialogue difficult to follow.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Different character voices rather than the same for all.

Another classic bosch,
I did slow down Titus narration to suit previous books and tone, but brillant. Never a bad book by Connelly, titi will find his tone in the narration I'm sure.

Great to have Titus back !
The “real” Bosch narrating made a great story an amazing one. There are insufficient superlatives to critique the master of this genre, and his standards never slip.

Great story but let down by narrator
What did you like most about The Burning Room?
Typical Harry Bosch story which keeps you interested until the end. Also good to have new characters which Connelly developed well.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Has to be Bosch. Makes the rules up to suit the case, which make for a good story.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I really looked forward to Titus Welliver reading this now that he plays Bosch on screen, however no attempt was made to alternate the voice for different characters, and the slow monotone voice didn't help either. Perhaps would have been better if other narrators read the female parts of the book.
Any additional comments?
Len Cariou and Dick Hill should be retained for the next Bosch books.
