Summary

A hooded man, his face marred by a mysterious black brand, walks the Plain of Savlos. Some say he has the power to summon demons. Others say he is the only one who can vanquish them. His name is Konrad, and he has a secret....

Once an ordinary soldier, his life was forever changed by a fateful meeting with a dying sorcerer. Now he is all that stands between civilization and the creeping evil of the shadow world.

The definition of missed potential

Look I like the start it was great but once the court part was done it went down hill and there was a lack of character development and the ending wasn’t really that appealing mid story decent reader and a lot of missed potential

Good listen

I'd been struggling to find an audiobook I enjoyed while waiting for a different release, and this hit the spot! Pretty original story and lore, and a nice blend of story and action, the narration was the cherry on top for me.

A page turner for sure.

This author is new to me, but I'm glad I came across this book, included with membership. I will most definitely be getting the rest in this series.
Narration is flawless,

Strong start to the series

Picked this on a whim and ended up liking it a lot. The story feels as though it takes its time to setup the backstory without boring the reader and starts accelerating as it gets further on. After the book it feels as though a lot of things already happened in a relatively short 7 hour audiobook that sets the stage for the rest of the series.

Why give away the author's worst book?

In the first hour, the character makes a big judgment error (what we call a plot hole because the writer was too lazy to write something smart) and then proceeds with the most boring info dump of backstory in existence.
