Summary

I want you, Hailey. Never doubt that.

Hailey:
He’s a means to an end.

A way to right a wrong done to my family.

But I can’t deny the desire I see in his eyes,

Or the need to see what it would be like in his arms.

Can I give myself to my stepbrother without losing myself in the process?

Cody:
She was a prize I could never attain.

Now that she is in my grasp I will have her.

She might think this is only temporary.

But she will be mine,

Now and forever.

I loved the dual narration of Natalie Armstrong and Christian Turner, who bring the characters, emotions and

Hailey and Cody are step-siblings, her father married his mother before he passed away of a heart attack. Cody's mother is holding on to painting that Hailey’s mother painted hostage and will not return it. As she believes her husband had cheated. Hailey decides to go to Cody to see if he can help get her painting back. Even though Hailey believes Cody is arrogant and a play boy she goes and askes for his help. He agrees on the condition she accompanies him on a few dates to help make his image better. Cody wants this to be permanent.

This story is full of drama, manipulations, misunderstandings, and romance.

Sweet

This couple are so cute together. They have a love that could be frowned upon but love knows no bounds. A great performance

step sibling romance.

Ashley Sands is a new author to me and my first audiobook by her too. I did enjoy very much.
The narrators Natalie Armstrong and Christian Turner are also new voice actors to me and I have to say they were really great at telling this story...and I loved listening to their performance.
This is a step sibling romance between Cody and Hailey.
Cody's mother had married Hailey's father for a brief time until her father passed away and Carla took something from them,a painting that Hailey wants which holds sentimental value for Hailey. But her evil step mother Carla has it captive and won't give it back she hates Hailey.
The only way Hailey has the opportunity to get it back was through her step-brother Cody who was Carla's favourite child.
Cody is a playboy billionaire who has had a crush on Hailey since they met.He also has a bad reputation with woman, which makes people not take him seriously..Cody needs to be seen as a legitimate buisness man in order to get his new venture up and running.
So when Hailey meets him at a function and asks him to help her get the painting from his mother, they make a deal.He will buy the painting from his mother if she will attend a few buisness dinners with him...which will hopefully help mend his reputation and also for Hailey to see him in a different light.
He wants her in his bed ,in his life as his partner..But Hailey does not trust him or like him and he will do anything to change her mind.
Cody and Hailey have so much chemistry and they are clearly attracted to eachother.
Cody slowly chips away at the walls Hailey has built up until they finally come down just for him,and they are so good together...very steamy.
But if Carla found out about their secret relationship she could destroy the good thing that Cody and Hailey have found.
This is a very intriguing story and it can be read/listened to without reading/listening to the previous books.I thought it was well written and kept me entertained through-out and I will happily listen to the other books in this series.
great story.

Worse step mom ever

Haley has the worse step mom ever she has been fighting with her over a painting that means so much to her and her deceased father. To get her painting back she decides to ask her former step brother for some much needed help. Cody has been attracted to Haley for years but never made it known because of their parents and because of his reputation of being a man whore. Cody wants to do everything to get the painting back for Haley but he asks for her help in business.

Miscommunications and manipulations

This semi-taboo step-sibling relationship faced a few challenges, the biggest of which is a manipulative mother/stepmother. Of course how the couple works to overcome these challenges is the crux of the story. It was a shorter, easy listening story, perfect for a lazy summer day. This author is new to me. I'll be checking out more of her work.

The narrators were both new to me and I thought both did a great job. I'll definitely look for more books by them.

Hard to follow, hard to finish

I was given a free copy of this in exchange for my review.

I haven’t read the previous titles in this series (& I don’t know if that makes a difference), but this trope is not really interesting or engaging.

The male lead comes across as arrogant, egocentric and unlikeable, even when you persevere through it. I honestly didn’t see how the relationship (purely sexual) developed into a romantic loving one, because that aspect was never brought out in the telling. All of their encounters were one sex scene after another!

As for the narration. These were not my favourite paring, I didn’t feel as if any (or enough) emotion was put into the narrative. To begin with, the man sounded as if he was doing the voice over for a documentary!! It got better as the tale moved on, but I felt that neither of them helped to drive the story.

This hasn’t been my favourite Billionaire trope.
