About this listen
Dennis Wilson (Sticks) takes you on a gripping tale of life in the Projects. What began as innocent kids in a bicycle gang eventually became something much more. But family is not always what it seems in this raw, entertaining mystery. The body of a local drug dealer is discovered, Detective Faye-Lynn Johnson assigned the case, and everyone becomes a suspect, including her boyfriend. Conflicting facts soon emerge as she grapples with this baffling mystery.

Excellent Listen.
A gripping story, about a number of characters who originally belong to "The Bicycle Gang". I thought this was very skilfully written with a number of different timelines running alongside each other telling the story of different boys from similar backgrounds who start out members of a gang and as they develop although going different ways they are still members of a brotherhood. Most of them become involved in crime to some degree or other. I found the whole plot fascinating and would highly recommend listening to this second book in the series. Narration was superb, Casandra Arnolds voice is perfect for this kind of story with a plethera of different voices in her repetoire.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

crime
Cassandra Arnold did a wonderful job of narration.
This is an plot and a dark tale about kids growing up in the projects
The boys in this bicycle gang believed that they are are invincible it so much, that they continued on in crime, as adults.
Showing how petty crime eventually leads to the bigger and dangerous life of drugs, violence and ultimately death. We are shown the good old days and the innocent beginning of the Bicycle Gang to the notoriously shortened lives of these project kids joined by a band of brotherhood.

Good story and bit of nostalgia thrown in
Nice mix of characters and detail about a brotherhood more than a gang as they grew up and then misfortune strikes. A very enjoyable listen and really felt for the characters.

Really intelligent and more about brotherhood
I really enjoyed listening to this book and it came across as very intelligently written with a lot of emotional intelligence re the gang. The different timelines really helped in this. The ending was well done how the author gave a summary of the gang.
The story was well narrated and suited the story line and characters. It took me a while to get into it but once I did it was okay and it flowed.
