Slow burn story
3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️& 1🌶️. I listened to this on audiobook and I’ll admit it took me a very very long time to finish due to Christmas festivities getting in the way. I do feel the sort of broken read may have affected it. I did enjoy the book, it was a slow burn and the storyline was also pretty slow paced. It was a simple one, where charity works for miles as his housekeeper, who he has never met. He envisioned her as a frumpy old housekeeper type when in reality she’s a young beautiful woman, who has some issues with a previous abusive relationship. So she lives alone in his holiday home and cares for them when they visit. Miles has recovered from an illness so heads there for respite. During stormy season the two grow closer of course. And they help each other recover in more ways than one. I enjoyed it but I wasn’t wowed. The narration was fabulous though!

Unusual and good
I really liked this, the dialogue was good and the woman’s past was credible and revealed in a careful way. Both characters were believable.

Boooring as f**k
Nothing happens. So if you like to go to sleep just press play. Maybe the last third of the book is where it all happens? I did not continue to find out.
