About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

How to create the most transformative meetings and moments.

Being deprived of gathering has revealed just how important it is to us; to connect with others, collaborate, share ideas and create moving, life-affirming experiences.

At a time when coming together is more crucial than ever, Priya Parker sets forth a human-centred approach to gathering that can help everyone create meaningful, memorable experiences in their lives, large and small, for work and for play.

Drawing on her wide expertise as a facilitator of high-powered gatherings around the world, Parker takes us inside events of all kinds to show what works, what doesn't and why. She investigates a wide array of gatherings - a court hearing, a flash-mob party, an Arab Israeli summer camp - and explains how simple changes can invigorate any group experience. The result is a book full of exciting ideas of real-world applications and one that will forever alter the way you look at your next business meeting, dinner party and garden barbecue.

Very interesting and really useful ideas.

I was worried this a wouldn’t be able to hold my interest, but I was happily proven wrong.

A must read to everyone who connects people and hosts events

I now know why some of the events were as not good as the others. And more importantly I learned basic rules to make a good gathering. Thank

The Art of Gathering

I liked that Priya gave examples of gatherings that worked well and explained why they worked as well as giving examples of situations that didn't work well.

What a brilliant book!

This is a book I've been meaning to read for a long. I'm glad I finally did. It's enjoyable, offers a fresh perspective on gathering and with practical examples. Hosting a gathering would never be the same. Absolutely brilliant book, highly recommended.

I didn't know what I didn't know about hosting

I really enjoyed this book. Downloaded it randomly but I learned a lot about do's and don'ts of bringing people together. Also just enjoyed the stories in it

GREAT GATHERINGS TO SHARE HAPPINESS AND LOVE

Thanks Priya Parker - was recommended your book by a close friend - Superb insights on USA based Gatherings - would love you to write a sequel and share your illuminating insights on GLOBAL Gatherings - ALL THE BEST to you & family - ps. liked your Father-in-Law’s 3 slide closing at the Uni and the Funeral Closing was masterful

Like the content but not the reading…

Somewhat robotic voice and monotonous delivery from the reader. A shame as it alienated me somewhat from the content.

Good content, less than great narration

I enjoyed the content of the book but I did not enjoy the narrator. The voice seemed a bit robotic. I would love if the author narrated this book.

Great content, voice a bit robotic

Very interesting content and it made my work better during the time I was reading it. I didn't really like the narration though

One of the few books I can’t bare to finish

I don’t know where to begin this review. Perhaps easiest to summarise that I only found 5-10% of the information is valuable but even those are for sure not worth listening through this lengthy book to grasp.
