Practical, evidence-based guide to creative think

The origins and development of the principles and practice of the brainstorming process are described and evaluated. I was struck by the description of the process being "an orgy of ideas having sex".This was describing the novelty and product of seemingly unrelated (or only tangentially related) ideas being combined to modify or develop them.

The other surprise was learning individual creative thinking is superior to the group activity. There are practical and cogent tips given on how best to combine individual and group processes as well as how to run and plan sessions. The principles and practices taught here will be useful to both individuals and organisations.

I was concerned that the author asked for a review to be left after only the first few chapters. This review may differ from others you may see in that it was written after listening to the whole book. The request for a review repeated again just before the end of the book was less irritating and concerning, but most authors have the courtesy to request a review only at the end of a book.

The narrator did their best to sound fresh and interested, but I found the attempts at accents for some of the sources quoted demeaning and distracting from the message.

I received a free copy of this audiobook via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
