Summary

Trevor White reads Mark Twain's timeless tale about friendship and loyalty set in America's Deep South. Tom Sawyer is a fun-loving and adventurous boy who always tries to keep one step ahead of his long-suffering Aunt Polly. Who wouldn't want to skip school when there are adventures to be had along the banks of the Mississippi River? Tom gets into plenty of scrapes with his friend Huckleberry Finn.

But the innocent and child-like japes turn for the worse as the two boys witness an event that has them fearing for their lives.... Buried treasure, danger, excitement and the infamous Injun Joe all feature in this tale of two boys' zest for adventure.

Classic adventure

My new year’s resolution is to read the classics and this one was very accessible and enjoyable. Just over an hour so a good length too.

Short and sweet

There's probably a life lesson to be learned in this story somewhere but the audio version was hard to follow along with, did not enjoy the narration at all.

Better than expected

More interesting than I thought it would be. We thought it was just for kids

Not for me

I did not enjoy the accents.
The story was dull and I had no motivation to listen to it.
Maybe it would suit a younger audience better.

What a waste of a brilliant story

I first read the book aged 10 and loved it.To shorten it to just over an hour is appealing had I known I would not have bothered Have children become so delicate they can’t cope with a story longer than that This is a classic for a reason The narration was ok but a rushed story is still rushed whoever does it Do chapters that might help or do companies think they can do better than the authors original
