About this listen
After a dramatic shoot out at a ferry dock, Detective Lindsay Boxer is called to the scene to find that three people have been killed, and one of her closest friends, Claire, has been shot and lies bleeding, whilst the murderer is on the run. Lindsay promises Claire that she'll hunt down this killer and bring him to justice, but sadly, it doesn't prove to be so straightforward.
A man comes forward claiming to be the ferry murderer, and Yuki Castellano, one of the Women's Murder Club, prepares to set out the charges against him. But it's not all over; a child has been abducted and is still missing. To increase the mystery and confusion, there are a series of suspicious and unexplained deaths in the building where Cindy lives - yet another of the Women's Murder Club is in danger. Lindsay discovers yet more abducted children, and the hunt begins in earnest to return the children to their parents.

Won’t be listening to any book read by Carolyn McCormack
Great book, great characters but oh boy was that tedious to listen to. Sounded like a robot at times, ruined the book for me

Definitely up to expectations
The storyline was good and I had to concentrate to keep my place. One criticism would be the narrators Americanised speech, especially Jacobi good job he wasn't in every chapter.

Shame about Narration
I have enjoyed the first 5 books and was excited to get the 6th. What a disappointment- different Narrator who speaks in a monotone, and bizarre music that appears at beginning and end of chapters. Think they may have tried to liven it up.
Forced myself to listen and story line is good- but style and tone is very distracting- disappointing after so many good versions. Hope next one is better! Almost want a refund!

Not as good a narrator as previous books
Narrators need to ensure the correct pronunciation for names as previous I found it annoying it’s like using different names for the same person!
Absolutely average.

What’s with the music?
As is always the case, James Patterson writes a great story, but the change of audio Performer has not worked as well as the first 5 books.
I am not keen on the 1980’s style music which has obviously been overlaid after the recording. It’s added at every chapter, and other music plays at various intervals. It is unnecessary and quite frankly, annoying. I hope it doesn’t continue into book 7.

irritating music
I love the women's murder club series and was looking forward to continuing it with number 6. For some reason this seemed to be an older edition than the previous audio books I'd had from this series. It had a different narrator and the names of some of the main characters were pronounced differently which was annoying and the tinny music and echoey chapter announcements were supremely annoying. There was also also some cringey 'sex music' during any romantic scenes. If the next one I buy is like this too I'm not going to us any more!!!

Enjoyed The Story
James Patterson never disappoints. It took me a while to adjust to the narrator but that's only because i've listened to the first 5 books in this series and Pat Starr was the narrator and she was awful but I got used to it, then I listened to this book whith Carolyn McCormick as the narrator and she was different and better thus it made the listings so much better.

Narration
Love the stories and the characters ...
However, do not like the narrator on this one... she has changed the pronunciation of a main characters name and I found it very off-putting, also a word or two ..

music, really annoying
the book is good the music at each chapter is not needed in my opinion. It just is not needed and becomes annoying.

miss Pat Starr
I loved the voice and expressions of emotion Pat Starr had when narrating the previos books. it brought so much more to the feel of the book. shame i see no further narrations by Pat for this series. like the series though so will continue but less engaged.
