Good Book, but lacking depth
I have listened to this book five or six times before I wrote this review as I wanted to be as fair as possible. I enjoyed the book in so much as it was an interesting concept and fast paced. The story itself was good but for me it lacked depth there were several major characters split in to two stories that converged towards the end, however, we are given snippets of information at the beginning which made me ask questions, but as the book progressed those questions were never answered, there was no backstory to any character and certain life changing decisions appeared to be made on a whim so at the end of the book there are more questions left un answered then there are to begin with. It may be that this is just the first book in a series and we will get other off-shoots and other books that eventually answer those question, in which case, please sign me up because above all it was a good read, just for me, lacked the depth.
Now when I say I listened to the book five or six time, I do not exaggerate and for me, I think this was as much down to the narrator as it was the story. I found the tone that the book was read in was pleasing to listen to and fitted in well with both the pace and characteristics of the book. I will certainly look for other books by this narrator if they fit in to my preferred book type.
