Summary

Having a younger, beautiful sister is hard enough. Having one who’s on the cover of magazines and is loved by all? Torture. For single mom Marie Stephens, all she wants is to survive her new business, provide for her children, and ignore the intense feelings she has for her married neighbor.

When her famous sister, Sadie, shows up after a five-year absence, Marie’s normal life ceases to exist. Add in their celebrity-obsessed mother, it’s no wonder they can’t get along.

The most important thing Sadie and Marie will learn? Accepting your sister can change your life.

Two sisters couldn't be more different.

It was a nice story about a woman struggling with her life as its so different to her famous sisters life. One sister had all the luck the other is down on her luck with 2 children and living with her mother after her husband dies. The narrator did a goud job with the voices. I liked the book but it's like when you watch a program and you don't like the main character. The program might be great but you're not invested in it. The main character in this is down on her luck but to me she was a bit annoying. She's been pushed to the side for years and looked down on by her mother all because her mother favoured the talented sister. But Marie the main character whinges a bit too much and can't let anything good happen to her. She let's her mother push her around a lot. So she annoyed me a bit and I wanted to shake some sense into her. But otherwise its a good story. I received a free copy of this book from the author but the review is my own opinion.

When life gives you second chances...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It isn't always easy for a book to be both escapism and entirely relatable, but this story does it. The story is about relationships, between mothers and daughters, sisters, friends and lovers, with a real feel-good factor. The plot somehow manages to tap into the gently progress of the mundane in life, like work and routine, without actually being mundane. I remained interested from start to finish! The best part is the possibilities for second chances because all the characters, no matter now quirky and dramatic, are lovable and deserve the chance for a do-over. The story successfully carries the reader from start to finish in a gently, affirming and satisfying way. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Jennifer Blom does a fantastic job of performing this book. She successfully draws the audience into the book and delivers the subtle nuances of each character, their strengths, vulnerabilities, pain and more.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
