I have totally enjoyed this entire series!
I hadn't heard of this author or narrator before but I have to say not only were the stories right on the money for this time period but Darlene Allen was amazing as the narrator. Ms. Allen is able to make you believe that each character was actually speaking, you didn't need to wonder you could tell by all the different voices she is able to make . I liked finding out more about what it was like in the 1920's. The costumes as the ladies called their clothes were described beautifully and I found it interesting to learn that the women wore girdles and wrapped their breasts so that they could fit into the straight structure of the dress and do the Charleston without bouncing all over. lol what a difference from the styles today that barely cover anything. I also of course enjoyed the murder case, the banter between Ernie and Mercy, and the relationship of Mercy with her parents. I would love to find out if there are more books in this series!
I received a free code from Audiobooks Unleashed to listen to this book on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.
