About this listen
Sebastian Grey is in limbo. He is the heir presumptive to the Earl of Newbury, unless the current earl, a widower, can find a bride who will bear him a son. Newbury is in his 60s and somewhat portly, but as an earl he's considered quite a catch. Sebastian, on the other hand, is 29 and extremely handsome, but in no hurry to find a wife.
Annabel Winslow, a country girl through and through, has received an offer to go to London for the season. The eldest of a family of eight, she knows that a good marriage might be the only thing that will save her family from ruin. After a few weeks in town, Annabel attracts the attention of the Earl of Newbury. The thought of submitting to him makes her skin crawl, but she is practical and determined to do her duty. Even when Sebastian Grey comes on the scene.

We find out the author of “Miss Butterworth and the Mad Baron” at last…
A great story to finish off the Beverstoke series. Up to Julia Quinn’s usual high standard.

Captivating sweet story
Very sweet and funny story. The narrating was clear and entertaining but also calming at times. I always love how easy it is to listen to Julia Quinn's books.

storyline with some great characters and antics within the book. The narrator was very good at using different voices for the characters.

Best One In This Series So Far
Loved every minute of this book. The Characters, the plot, the narration and the gentility of the era it’s set in. A lovely story for historical romance lovers.

Too long
Enjoyed the book but the last few chapters dragged. Felt as if the author had a certain number of words that she had to reach before she could finish. It lost pace but was mostly enjoyable.

Wonderful Storyline, Narrated fantastically
Well this is probably my 15th Julia Quinn book, and this one is definitely a firm favourite, along with Romancing Mr Bridgerton the narration by Rosalyn Landor is simply outstanding
