Summary

Ten's mission is supposed to be simple. Provide overwatch for his team.

Captain Warden and Lance Corporal Goodwin are the space marines with the hard job. They have to infiltrate a Deathless base, identify and capture a senior officer and extract him from under the nose of his soldiers, preferably without dying in the process. They’re relying on Ten to watch their backs, but when he is accosted by the denizens of the jungle he’s yomping through, he has to make a tough choice between speed and humanity. Should he go for the quick option of violence, using decades of experience as a commando to free himself of his captors? Or will he exercise restraint and rely on his rusty social skills and find a diplomatic solution?

Already behind schedule and with his team in the line of fire, how will Ten complete his journey?

Journey to the West takes place during Ascendant, book three of The Royal Marine Space Commandos series. If you like fast-paced military sci-fi, with rousing action, heroic deeds, and a bunch of Brits looking for their next cup of tea, you’ll love the RMSC universe.

space marines and space monkeys

I have repeatedly enjoyed the Royal Marines Space Commando series and marine ten's adventure and skulduggery as the story is also detailed and very impressive to be honest this is no exception 5 star brief story that links into another book in the series set

Great idea

A short story with a difference - space marines and space monkeys in one place. I really enjoyed it but only got the full picture when I was reading book 3 - so not sure why this is labeled as book 0. Even without the backstory, it is still a good read though

Excellent taster for the series

An excellent story, running at under an hour this is a interesting taster for this series. The writing is excellent and the narration really brings it all to life. Royal space marine ten meets an intelligent monkey species during a mission. I liked the idea, charatcers, humour and writing.

Auwful

Not worth the memory required on my phone. No plot, no climax. As pointless as a broken pencil.

Should've checked runtime.

I was seriously disappointed when it ended after only 40 minutes, I was just getting into it thinking it was a full book. Wasted a credit.
