A magnificent ride

This is truly a masterpiece of storytelling. It requires some focus, but the characters and setting are amazing. The sound design is a marvel and overall this was one of the best (if not the best) audio dramas I’ve ever heard. Thank you!

Tume travel sci-fi at it's best

Phenomenal story that is immersion and keeps you on your toes. The story builds up from the start and picking up on every hint to the ending on a second listen just makes it even better. Also a brilliant commentary on our life these days when it comes to how we interact with technology, what we could do with it in the future, and what it could mean for us all. The cast is in top form and delivers stellar performances. Came for Nicola Walker and Julian Simpson, stayed for the mind blowing work that it is as a whole. The composer has done a phenomenal job, too. I've enjoyed his compositions in The Lovecraft Investigations and was delighted to recognise his style when I was listening.

Spectacular storytelling

I was extremely excited about this title just because it ties in my love of time travel stories, with my life long interest in unexplained events and conspiracy theories. But the way this story is woven together is genius storytelling. I planned on listening to just the first couple of chapters and ended up going to bed at 3am after I had listened to the whole story. I cannot recommend it enough. The sound effects and acting really bring this extraordinary story to life.

A great time-bending audio-drama

Classic Julian Simpson

Loved this, a little confusing at times but relistening to the last episode helped unpick all the threads. Clever and engaging. Julian and his voice team are great, love the Lovecraft investigations and Pleasant Green universe. Here's hoping they've found a new home on Audible.

A breathless tour of time travel paradoxes, ancient secrets, and dark conspiracies.

Temporal is an arresting, beautifully written and expertly performed adventure through time.

I can't reflect on the actual plot here without spoiling something, but it's very smart stuff. The core themes are thought provoking and intelligently drawn out. We are given a tour of a series of genuine historical mysteries, while also checking in with two parallel narrative 'spines': a distant future society on Mars, and a near-present-day team of time travellers trying to understand the elements of a looming disaster.

My only criticism is that there isn't enough of it. There's enough ideas and layers here to sustain a story of twice or three times the length. This would have given us even more investment as listeners when the plot reaches its twisty dénouement, and given us a chance to keep up with the rapidly shifting plot.

So please let's do a sequel series... and make it twice as long!

Outstanding story, sound mix and production

If you’ve arrived via Pleasant Green, with bad memories of Kemp and Fisher lurking nearby, you’ll know what to expect. Fantastic extension of whatever this metaverse is that Julian Simpson and his very capable team have created.

Brilliant acting, twisty plot and fascinating ideas

Great cast and a thrilling, unique plot taking in all sorts of interesting moments in history. Always worth seeking out anything by Simpson and his team.
