Please don’t hang up. I don’t know if you remember. You used to live with me. You and your mother.

Ruby lives with her father in an old farmhouse at the end of a dirt road. He teaches her to hunt, to forage for mushrooms, to gut a fish. She learns to tiptoe around his temper – and never to ask about her absent mother.

Ruby has no idea that, hundreds of miles away, a woman she barely remembers is desperate to answer those same questions. Over fourteen years, four hundred miles apart, these two women slowly begin to unearth the secrets and lies at the heart of their family, and the history of power and control that has shaped them both in such different ways.

Captivating, tender and deeply moving, Tell Me What I Am is an unforgettable portrait of the indelible bonds of family – and how far we will go for the ones we love.

What a storyteller Úna is, I felt as though I was right there

Another griping story that unfolds beautifully, what a talent Úna has. She has that ability to put you right there in the book through her imagery and story telling. A fantastic second novel, I can’t wait for the third!

Excellent story telling.

Despite being a little predictable, this was an excellent listen. The end was somewhat obvious but the hanging in there until the end was essential simply for the satisfaction of it.

Beautifully written and perfectly paced

This has been my best Audible experience so far. It was recommended as a good summer read in The Guardian last week so I gave it a go, and it was so good - the story, the writing, the pace, the narration (apart from Ronan’s butchered Irish accent) - I highly recommend it.
