About this listen
From former MI5 officeer Tom Marcus comes the third action-packed Matt Logan thriller and the sequel to Defend or Die.
It takes a certain type of person to tackle the dark realities of gangland London. Someone that operates in the shadows and doesn’t follow the rule of law. That’s where former MI5 officer Matt Logan comes in . . .
Logan is an undercover operative for Blindeye: a clandestine team of ex-intelligence operatives secretly tasked with the jobs that are beyond the legal remit of the official security services. When the group picks up on a trail of corruption which reaches to the top of the UK’s National Crime Agency, their mission begins. DCI John Tenniel is a ruthless individual unafraid to break the rules in order to elevate himself to more power and bodies have been piling up in his mission to the top.
Going after Tenniel will require Logan and the team to delve beneath the surface of society and into a murky underworld where the lines between gangsters and the police have become increasingly blurred. But Blindeye have acquired their target and now it’s time to strike . . .

Less 'Target & Destroy', more 'Tedious & Detracted'
First off, Jason Langley is superb. His narration is top notch, with each character have a distinct voice, and hr performs a vast array of accents. Sadly the story just doesn't live up to Tom Marcus' previous standards. This is certainly the weakest of the series, with a significant amount of time spent away from the official mission. There's lots of threads left unresolved. And my biggest annoyance was the shift from first person in the previous novels to third person in this one.

An enjoyable continuation of the story of the spies’ spies
I enjoyed listening again to the escapades of this secret group of people. And I love the narrator. But I thought the strength of the narrative wasn’t up to the previous books. It was shorter, or seemed shorter than before. Yet with the main plot and sub plot, everything unfolded quickly. Though I suspect the story arc is going to be continued in a future novel. I also felt that even though this is fiction and one expects a good story, some of the events described stretched credibility. Let’s see what happens next…..

Not his best
A good story but not overly exciting like previous ones. I think it was maybe the way it’s written! I hope he brings more out

Had a silent section like missing a page
On Audible I had a missing section, took ages for support to listen after going through download re-download and all other scenarios I showed them that the cloud player was also wrong or had this issue. They gave me my credit back but also took away the book!
I would rather they fix it. Tom Marcus does some fantastic books.

Great performance as usual, shame about the story
The first two books are epic. This is not. I did laugh how the write comments on how naff it is when a baddy completes the story line just before he kills the good guys… then proceeds to do exactly that😂. Still, at least it brought the book to a swift end! Narration was top notch though

Brilliant series long may it continue
I’m not big on books but Tom Marcus has this way of drawing you in, getting immersed into the story and living it with the characters. Every one of his books I have enjoyed and long my they continue. Can’t wait for the next one.
