About this listen
Ethan Greene: shy geek, newly bi-curious, and...propositioning his gay roommate?
I have a passion for a lot of things: wildlife biology, Godzilla, bowties.... But when it comes to people, I'm more timid. Which is why I'm stuck with a toxic ex-girlfriend who's holding my lizard hostage.
I need to face her - and save my dignity. But a little backup won't hurt, right?
My roommate is the perfect wingman. Rhett is assertive and charismatic. The kind of guy people respect. And when he meets my ex, he's also the kind of guy to get protective.
I take comfort in his strength, even as I envy it. But when he kisses me, things get awkward.
Frustrated by the tension between us, I turn to a hookup app for answers. I don't mean to proposition my roommate. Really. It's just a weird fluke - a mortifying one.
But Rhett has a proposition of his own. He wants to help me explore my curiosity. But he's a bartender who practically flirts for a living, and I'm in way over my head.
It could all end in heartbreak. Unless I find the courage I've been seeking my whole life. Can I be bold enough to ask Rhett Hayes to be mine?
Tapped by My Roommate is book three of the Thrust into Love series featuring a flirty bartender, a timid but passionate geek, and a mistaken app hookup that encourages these two roommates to explore friendship and love. It can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Adorable, steamy, and nerdy
I've read other roommate romances, but there was something special about Ethan and Rhett's story. I wasn't completely sure what to think of the two of them when I first met them, but all it took was one nasty confrontation with Tess and I was firmly on Team-Ethan-and-anybody-else. I wasn't expecting a drunken kiss to kickstart a deliciously steamy checklist of sexual explorations, but wow did I have fun seeing how many ways Rhett and Ethan could get each other off. I loved the way Rhett was so patient with Ethan, never pushing him for more and always showing his interest in everything they did together. The two of them had insane chemistry that went way beyond physical touches and kisses. They may have pretended their interest in each other was strictly for hookups, but their actions told an entirely different story.
As much as I loved the steamy bits (and I really, really did), I thought Ethan and Rhett's individual storylines were really compelling as well. Ethan not only explored his sexuality in this story but also tackled his fear of confrontation. I was so distraught after seeing the way Tess and others treated him--especially because I have my own qualms about confrontation and I understand the struggle to speak up for yourself. That's why it was so satisfying to see Ethan gain confidence and learn how to be brave when it mattered most. In turn, Rhett had his own savior complex to overcome on top of a difficult decision about what major he wanted to pursue. What I really enjoyed about this story was how deep it delved into Ethan and Rhett's history. I didn't just experience Ethan and Rhett's struggles in the present day--I got glimpses into how their pasts shaped them to put everything into context. On top of that, seeing how Ethan interacted with his co-volunteers and Rhett spent time with his family made their characters feel satisfyingly well-rounded. Of course, I can't leave out Linh, who was always around to give either guy a kick in the backside when they needed to get out of their heads.
Though Rhett and Ethan spent way too much time dodging important discussions about their relationship, I couldn't help but fall head over heels for them. That didn't stop me from being devastated each time a communication issue threatened to derail their romance before it could get off the ground, but in the end they managed to get on the same page. I'm so happy with the way that sappy love confession turned out, and don't even get me started on that adorkable marriage proposal at the end!

So sweet!
OMG, how cute were Ethan and Rhett? Totally adorbs! And they just fit together so well. Ethan was shy and nerdy and Rhett was protective and sweet. They had amazing chemistry and I just loved how hot and sweet they were.
I adored Ethan's neighbor and Rhett's coworker. And I hated Ethan's ex and his study partner with a passion. I just hated how they took advantage of how nice Ethan was.
Nick J. Russo was the perfect choice to narrate this series. His voice sounds youthful enough to pass for college-aged guys, and he's just so talented at bringing the right kind of emotion to every single scene. Super recommendable!

More Than He Could Of Thought.
MM, Gay/Bi-curious, Roommate to Lover, Contemporary, Romance. A great read with likeable, sweet characters, lots of angst, heat, and emotion with some ex drama thrown in. There were some moments that were sweet and funny especially the lizard retrieval. I thoroughly enjoyed Nick J. Russo's narration of their story. Guaranteed HEA

Rhett & Ethan
Loved!! I really enjoyed Rhett and Ethan’s story! I was so excited when I saw this was coming to audio, and that Nick Russo would be doing the narration! Nick did a fantastic job with Rhett and Ethan’s story! He really drew me into a story that I already lived, and made it fresh and new! I’m a huge fan of sexual awakening and their story really grabbed me from the start! I loved Ethan’s journey of exploring his sexuality after an unexpected kiss with his roommate. While Rhett helped Ethan discover a different side of himself, Ethan helped Rhett learn it was okay to learn on other and ask for help. These two complimented each other so well, and were so in tune with each other’s needs! It was sweet, sexy and I found myself smiling often!

I was given a free audio copy from the author for review.
Story = 4.5 stars
Narrator = 5 stars
I loved this just as much the 2nd time around and the fabulous narration brought the story to life. The narrator had a pleasant reading voice and kept a good pace. He was age appropriate. He expressed all the emotions really well and did different voices that each suited the characters. He even does great female voices. It was a pleasure to listen to.
This was my favorite in the series. Even though it is standard length, I stayed up and read it in one read cause it was just too good to put down. It is a standalone. The 2 MCs were so cute together. This was a nice light, fun read with very mild, almost no angst. There are plenty of intimate scenes but I did find them rather mild in the steam. I love how nerdy and sweet Ethan was. They were a perfect match. I'm not rating it 5 stars as there were minor things that got on my nerves that could have been avoided but overall it was a fantastic read. I would definitely recommend it.

Wow
I read this one but I am so very glad that I got to listen to the audio version too, it really brought the story to life for me. The narration gave them so many emotions and also added enough to each character that it was easy to differentiate between the characters. Certainly worth a listen

Zilla Love
Tapped by My Roommate is the third book in the Thrust into Love series, a contemporary romance series about college guys who find love through a dating app. This book is easily read as a standalone and does not feature any big cameos or plot devices from previous books. However, I loved the first two books and think this series is best read in order just for the delight of it all.
Ethan and Rhett are adorable – both on their own and as a couple. I loved how supportive of each other they are. Without the support they provided to each other, I don’t think either character would have been able to achieve the personal growth they worked so hard for. There were a lot of sweet and fluffy moments as well as some truly hilarious shenanigans (lizard tail whips!!!!). I also gained a much deeper appreciation for Godzilla and all his attributes (…but not as deep of a appreciation as Rhett in the epilogue).
The audiobook was narrated by Nick J. Russo who does a fantastic job. I loved how he voiced each character and brought an energy and vitality to the narration that really made it sound great. The audiobook production was also well done and it was overall a really fun listening experience.

Loved it when I read it and even more in audio.
I read and reviewed this book when it was released back in September 2021. The only thing I can add to this review of the audiobook is how great a job Nick J. Russo did. It’s rare that an audiobook will bring out the same strong emotions that I had when I read a book with my eyes but Nick’s wonderful audio performance got to me in several places and brought on a few tears. I loved this!
Below is original review about Tapped by My Roommate:
Rhett is a struggling college student. He has a contentious relationship with his stepfather but he’d do anything for his brother and sister. He has a scholarship but has to work full time to pay for rent, food, books, etc. He needs a roommate to help share the cost of rent. Ethan’s a geeky, wildlife biology major who moved in with Rhett after a bad breakup. His ex-girlfriend won’t return his pet green iguana.
I really liked this book. Rhett is attracted to Ethan but he knows that Ethan is straight. After a drunken kiss one evening he realizes that there is some great chemistry between them. Ethan eventually decides he wants to experiment to figure out if he’s really bi or not and Rhett agrees to help him out.
Things are really good between them but they both agreed to stick to a list of rules that Ethan made up – neither is looking for any kind of long-term relationship. Their chemistry is off the charts. I loved how patient Rhett is with Ethan. He never makes fun of him or tries to get him to do anything he’s not ready for. Over the period of several weeks his feelings begin to change. Ethan’s feelings also change but of course, neither of them communicates with the other one.
When Rhett finally makes peace with his stepfather it gave me all kinds of feels and brought on the tears.
I think DJ Jamison’s writing just keeps getting better and better. I loved Ethan and Rhett.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Adorably sweet roommates/friends to lovers
Sometimes it takes a drunken kiss to open your eyes to the possibility of more.
Rhett is very outgoing and Ethan is so painfully shy.
They're complete opposites so it would seem they wouldn't work together but that's exactly what makes them perfect for each other because they balance each other out.
Rhett was so patient with Ethan, giving him the the time and space to explore safely.
The chemistry between these two was sizzling and jumped off the pages.
I loved seeing Ethan come into his own and gain confidence in himself.
Nick J. Russo did an amazing job narrating
