Summary

Abducted by aliens. Frozen for decades.

Charlie Travers figures his life can’t get much worse. He lives over a pizza restaurant, he’s lost his girlfriend, and has no prospects for a career.

Then, he’s abducted by an alien robot and taken across the galaxy. When he wakes up, he finds himself stranded thousands of light-years away and about to be killed by space pirates.

Charlie’s only hope of getting through this is learning to work with his fellow abductees: a green-skinned warrior woman, a feathered con man who is just as likely to steal their starship as he is to save them, and a cyborg insectoid pilot who could rip a man apart with ease—if he wasn’t a strict pacifist.

To make matters worse, they were abducted for a reason—one that aims to change the course of the galaxy forever.

Excellent

First time I’ve seen this book so have a go and 5 hrs into first one and it’s great, if you are a fan of space teams or expeditionary force you will enjoy this even though but as good as them up to now it’s a great start and the narrator is new to me but he is brilliant

Really good start to a series

Enjoyed the book, and as always, the narration was spot on.

Good:
- story was interesting and a nice opener
- characters are well thought out, you do rooting for Travis
- action wasn't horrendously impossible and didn't have too many "at the last moment the hero is saved by x" moments
- nothing was rushed, the main plot developed well for such a short timeframe
- excellent narration as always!
- will happily follow the series

bad
- felt very short
- the additional of a 1h bonus story at the end is very naughty!! Im all for free content but it felt more like padding the overall time here on audible
- i couldn't remember half the names at the end if you had a gun to my head, but that is probably just me
- more space battles please!

Get it - you won’t be disappointed

It’s a great book that’s performed brilliantly - I had already bought the 2nd and hadn’t finished the first.

Boredom

The narrator done this book no good. It's just boring. I'll have to finish it off to get my credits worth but in all, It's a waste of a credit.
